There are some playes on this team that at the pick of there values, we need to trade them now beore its too late.

1.Kurt Thomas will decline with every coming year, we are winning a title this year, by the time we will be truly competitive, he will a decrepit old man. We need to unload him for draft pick and a marginal player with small/expiring deal.

2.Nazr Mohammed, he is playing about as well as he can play. Yet he still makes no impact on the game, as his postup game is still unreliable, and outside dunking and rebounding he does very little. He also play terrible defense and is a bad defensive rebounder. Take a mintue to think about this: He averages like 3.5 offensive rebounds a game, and only averages 9 total rebounds. Meaning he is getting killed on the defensive glass.
Anyways, we need to dump him to a contender for a young bigman project, a 7 footer with shotblocking ability, maybe take a bad deal back or something.

We also need to realize that we are overrating some of our players a lot.

Sweetney is not that good. He is NOT gogn to devolop into a start post stud that we all hope he will. Lets look at history of players drafted after they spent a considerable time in college. None of them had a breakout year past there 2nd year in the league. They either put up promising numbers right away or were busts. Considering that, maybe its time to trade Sweetney for some other prospect, such as Kwame Brown, or something like that because they have more realistic upside.

And finally, Houston is done. He is nothing but Dell Curry. We need to get a SG out of the CBA to start and relegate Hosuton to the 15 mintues a game that he can still provide as a standstill jumpshooter.

And please put Penny back on IR.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

We really need Crawford back. I wish all those, "trade Crawford cause we have Houston" guys come out now and admit they are wrong.

Houston was exposed tonight......all that talk of how the Knicks played better without Craw is bull.

Say it loud Houston is a glorified Dell Curry.

totally agree except for Sweetney. Two words: Zach Randolph.

If Sweetney was on the Bulls last year he they would have played him 35 minutes and he would have been a 15/9 player out of the box. Instead he's buried on IR. This year he dominated in the summer leagues and earned himself time in the rotation. He's 22.

I don't agree with that part about Sweetney.
It's only his second year. Too soon to say he isn't going to be a low post stud. I guess the same way it's too soon to say he won't be a bust. We don't know yet.
However, I'm putting my money on allstar. I was completely shocked by his rebounding numbers this year. I got caught in the hype and expected him to average 8 or 10 rpg right from the start.
Aside from that, you can still see he has a knack for rebounding, and some of those low post moves are enough to make me jump out of me seat. His defense slowly seems to be getting better, but he needs work at staying out of foul trouble.
I see him as being something special. If he's a bust, feel free to come back with an "I told you so", but I am confident he won't be.

Other than that, I agree. I move Kurt if I can get a young big with potential. Nazr has slightly stricter standards, but I still move him if we can get a guy like Dalembert (on my knees praying for that one).
I like the idea of Houston for about 15-20 minutes. I would still start him though. I like the thought of what Jamal could bring to us from the bench.

I am not completely sold on Sweetney either. I am not sure if Sweetney will be ready to be a starter next year.

If he doesn't get the PT, Sweetney will never be ready it. If he gets significant minutes, the Knicks will be a much better team by the playoffs because of him.

Sweets is never going to get to start as long as Kurt is here. If Kurt stays here for two more years he is still going to start over Sweets. If we are not going to start him we need to trade Sweets for a Zach Randolph type player fast.

well kt is leaving next year bc his contract is up. Trading Sweets for a Randolph type player is easier said then done; any ideas who to get who is mediocre now, and once he is traded will break out as a huge stud??? Houston needs to be a 6th man

That was one of Zeke's dumb moves that nobody has brought up. KT is 32 yrs old nobody is gonna trade for his 3 yr contract for a non athletic PF.

KT some say plays great defense, maybe his defense is overrated. KT can't jump over 2 phone books and maybe that is the reason he doesn't jump for the head fakes from opponents he has no hops.

the team would have missed the playoffs last year without Kurt. Sweetney just wasn't ready for 36 mpg. His defense was too much of a liability.

H20 needs to play all out or not play at all. This guy is still limping around on the court because he is afraid to get hurt, I still am in favor of giving H20 more time out there but if he isn't going to go all out then I can't see him give full 100% effort when he is on the floor. Not playing 100% or giving 100% effort is not something that can be tolerated. This team needs crawford without him they have no explosive players and watching Marbury be expol;osive is like watching a double edge sword at work. When Marbury is scoring others are watching and this bring back memories of Marbury playing and losing in New Jersey.

Its time to reevaluate this team over again. Yes they are in first place which is a good thing but in a piss poor division at that. They don't win consistently how far are they going to go into the playoffs. Are they going to win a championship with KT as the PF or Nazr at the center highly unlikely. So why are they sticking with these players. I don't see why they aren't concentrating more on the future by starting Sweetney and taking KT out of the lineup. Why not trade Nazr for a young player like Kwame Brown and develop him for the future. Personally I think Kwame has a better chance in the future of getting a championship than Nazr does as a starter. I think this is so much the better direction for the Knicks than sticking with Nazr and KT.

Future team Current team
Ariza sf -------- TT sf
Sweetney pf------- KT pf
Brown c ---------- Nazr c
Crawford sg ------ H20 sg
Marbury g -------- Marbury g

Which team has a better chance of getting the Knicks a championship in the future say 3 years from now. Personally I can't see the current team getting any where significantly close to a championship with each passing year. Thats why I think the Knicks need to make a move to the future and start giving these young guy the starting role. I think the future team would make the playoffs this year.

I rather go for a sure thing in Brand, Yao Ming, Lebron or any other major free agent if I'm really gonna start considering winning a championship. Not Kwame Brown. Curry is a lot better than him at least he can be a dominant scorer inside even if he didn't improve his rebounding and defense he would help us more than Kwame who at best is a 12pts 9rebounds player. Curry at least has the potential to give you 18-20 points and 8 rebounds per game.
