New Jersey and Toronto got the big trading action started yesterday when the Raptors traded the face of their franchise for seven years to the Nets for injured Alonzo Mourning, backups Eric Willams and Aaron Williams, and two 1st round draft picks. This deal probably makes New Jersey a playoff team in the East as continues the rebuilding in Toronto. Now, Carter is only one of many, many players that have either asked to be traded or have been constantly rumored to be on the move. My question is: who do you see being traded before the deadline, to which team, and how will it affect the playoffs picture and the contenders? This deal came as a surprise for almost everyone, and the next deals will likely have the same impact on us.

And especifically on the Knicks, do you see Isiah pulling off a trade soon after this deal? Could Isiah trade for Dalembert or Curry or any other big man this season? Will he surprise us with a deal out of nowhere?

After this Carter trade, I really have a feeling that Isiah to make a deal for the big man we need this season...

This deal makes New Jersey a contender in the East

This doesn't exactly make NJ a contender. They don't suck as bad, but hardly competing for much of anything.

Kidd/Best/Vaughn/Zoran*
Carter/Buford
RJ/Dickens
Kristic/Scalabrine
Collins/Smith*

*injured

Not nearly championship calibre.

THey look more like a subpar 500 team. No rebounding or a frontcourt assasin..

Knicks are still better. why??? The deep bench and performances of Kurt and NAzr up front daily...

Well, I must have expressed myself in a better way. I don't mean that NJ is a contender for the championship, not even for the Eastern Conference. What I mean is that this deal gets them again in the hunt for a playoff seed considering the Conference and the Division in which they are...

Ok, I can live with that statement, especially with "probably" in there.

I really hope that soon Isiah will surprise us with a trade in which he brings Dalembert to NY. I really hope that he can find a way to keep Nazr out of it because that would make NY such a great team! If only TT had been playing well from the start of the season we could be thinking about trading TT and KT for Dalembert and Mackie or Robinson or whoever else. Maybe it could still happen, given the fact that Philly doesn't value Dalembert the way they should...

Imagine this Knicks with a Center like Dalembert....

And what about Eddy Curry? The Bulls have improved their play lately and Eddy has been playing well for them...

but admit it...if the Nets trade their exemptions and picks and land a solid or great PF like Malone, PJ Brown, Dale Davis, Antonio Davis. You will be a little scared lol and they will...they won't stick with the frontcourt they have right now. It wouldn't be possible. All they need is a PF and they are really dangerous. But then again Half Man, Half Season might not last the whole season

Eddie Curry would be a much better fit than Dalembert. More specifically, he's a MUCH better player.

Its going to be hard for Isiah to pull off something better than VC. Maybe if we get SARs or Brand.

Rahim is one of those players that since last season has been rumored to be on the move. But I don't see the Knicks needing his services. He would help us in offense while our most glaring needs are defense and height. I still hope that Isiah can get a Big to NY soon. I wonder where will Rahim be sent...

But they could get more... I don't know what they really want to do, but they do have some options now...

We have a glaring need for low post scoring as well. We do need him.
I would love to have him here. But there is no way we could give up Nazzy for him, we need a center too and Nazzy is doing a good job so far.

well zeke has said he does'nt want to tamper w/the team mid-season. so you know what that means...........hell yeah we'll have a big by the trade deadline! or at least an atheletic pf. i don't trust zeke as far as i can throw him when it comes to trades. whatever he says, think the opposite.

If things get serios in discussions with, say, Philadelphia for Dalembert, Im sure he will make a deal no matter what. A deal for a Big that can become a star may define our future as a real contender in the NBA...

yeah trades have to be made within the first half of the season...anything after that will kill our chemistry
