What has he done so far that makes him so good????

The Marbury trade has been on the table, Layden came up with it. Iseah just caved in on all of the Suns demands. So we gave up a lot of expiring contracts, a multitude of draft picks, young prospects, while takin on enermosu money, and Marbury, a proven looser with a captial L.

Traded Spoon for Mooch, same crap, Mooch is just as bad if not worse.

Traded for TT. Horrible, horrible trade. Now we are stuck with 2 guys in the startin linepu who can't play D, Mohammed and TT. At least Van Horn got rebounds.

Waived Anderson. Don't really care, I hate Anderson, but at this point you migh at least keep him around for an expiring deal at some point. Why waive anybody. Just because refuses to lick Iseahs testicles?

Gettin Craw, Craw is a chucker, doesn't play andy D, and is undersized, We now have him for 7 years. Awesome. I just love it.

Now we are talkin about gettin Carter while takin on even more salary, and giving up whatever is left of our assets and draft picks.
This team is headed to hell if anywhere.

Iseah Thomas, Scott Layden, both horrible GM's. The era of mismanagement continues...

A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

He got rid of Howard Eisely. that alone speaks volume and he managed to trade a player who our entire franchise depended on and now has re-injured his knee in Mcdyess for one of the best pgs in the league.

Insidehoops.com : You have experienced the New York fans as a player, coach and now management. How can you characterize them?

Isiah Thomas : “One word is passion. They are passionate about their team. We win we’re great, lose and we’re the worst. But you can’t overreact to the fans (reactions).

We are better this year than last. Still the team needs improving, but at least we are not getting worse each year (layden)

Again?

We really need a new trade because we can't stop talking about the same things at the same time. No disrespect, but obviously we are in a tough losing streak and we obviously need some help on defense. Does that mean Isiah has done a terrible job? Please! This team isn't yet the team he wants to have.

Whatever with Isiah. Let him do his job. When he definitely kills the Knicks, he will be fired, a new guy will come, he'll make some trades, we'll have a 3 game losing streak again and we will talk about how bad he is, no matter who he brought in.

NO EVOLUTION

I think Isiah really should have found a way to turn a 30 win team into an elite team in just one offseason

There is no dout the talent level is better, but the players as a group just don't play hard.

They don't play any defense, ever.

Making Marbury your franchise player is a big question. I just don't see him as a winning player. Teams with scoring PG's never win anything.

I just find this core first no defense Knicks disgusting to watch on most nights these days. Miss the good old Knicks that played their hearts out and won with grit.

Now we have to watch this pampered primadonas going through the motions for half the time. Even if we get to .500 and manage to actually stay there, it kinda hard to excited about that when you have no cap space in the foresiable future.

All these "winning" is gong to get us is a worse pick. This team is not going anywhere, despite all the money that has been put into it. I just wish we let Ewing retire and rebuilt from there.

So far I'm seeing Isiah (happy PHilinLA you little snit???) make more and more additions to the pit that Layden has put us in.

A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

And speaking of improving every year, they are 8-9, heading for a sub .500 record again, where exactly are they improving?

Simrud, I understand your frustration and your point, but remember that Isiah isn't the coach. You can't blame him for the lack of effort from the players. He is in charge of making deals, and so far he has managed to make deals in NY (and only that deserves big credit) and he has brought in young players that will be better in the future.

Lets see how much time Lenny lasts if NY loses again...

Simrud!!! Come on! Don't let frustration blind you. We lost tonight and are 8-9 and that sox but you have to accept that we have improved in many ways. Fist of all, just compare last season's record to this so far. If you aren't happy, then see the players we have and compare them to last season.

Don't look at Lenny, because he may be the one ready to go...

Yeah, that's like coming back if the Knicks improve to 10-9 and saying, "We're so much better than those pathetic .500 teams!"

Having the 3rd seed and being 8-9 without Houston and with TT averaging 10 PPG is not a disaster.

I expect the average, casual fan to have such volatile evaluations, but it would be nice to see posters here be a little more knowledgable. Maybe that's asking too much

What Zeke did was get a player to bring fans back to the garden(marbury), knowing this guy isn't a true leader but talented loser.

Then he brought on another scorer to bring some excitment in crawford.

What Zeke should have done if his intentions was on winning now was get a big man with DEFENSIVE ABILITES to play for the knicks. If he was willing to give away assets and ending contracts for marbury ,how would we be able to get our big man?

Instead we got Vin Baker.

We the fans were Starving to get a pulse from our team and ZEKE GAVE US A PACIFIER, no real food, just some junk food in Jamal Crawford.

Keep the faith some say wait until Houston comes back says others. I say like I have always said get a big man 1st and you can find a point guard anywhere = somebody's bench, overseas, NBDL, Rucker, .
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Yeah I belive that too.....you can fine a point guard anywhere......

Thing is Isiah turned Eisley and a fleet of bums into Marbs....something that had to be done because that same group of player was not gonna get you a all-star Big Man.....

The Moochie Norris trade was genius if you ask me.....Imagine if the Knicks still had Spoon? He would have been bought out by now. At least Moochie is a player that a team could use. Moochie can score. He's our back-up which is what he is.

That Timmy trade is a killer.......Isiah did say that the only reason he's doing it is because of Nazr. Right now Nazr is putting up Dampier numbers as far as rebounds and points. Lord know we all wish we had KVH right now.

He got us Crawford and the whole Craw and Marbs thing is working.

I think Isiah is evaluating his roster.....There will be a trade sooner or later and I truly think one will be done before Christmas.

You're absolutely slammin jamming right, my man. Trading for Marbury instead of a big man was dumb. With the asset Isiah gave away, we should have gotten a first class big man. But as a former superstar guard, he sees the world from guard's point of view. And I think he made the trade just becasue he needed to make a statement as a newly hired GM in NY, and because he wanted to bring back a NY PG back to MSG for marketing purposes. The fact that the players he brought in (other than Junkyard dog) play NO DEFENSE will hurt this team for years to come.

The bottom line is that last year's team sucked and this year's team also sucks. The difference is that last year, we had injured players in H20 and Dyess, senior citizen in Deke, rooks, and bunch of mediocre players in Eisley, Weatherspoon, Harrington, Ward, Shandon, etc. But a few of them were big ending contracts. This years team features young (and relatively young) players with big$$$$$ 5yrs+ long contracts who plays NO DEFENSE, plus those who should be playing in the minor league if NBA had one (in TT, Baker, Norris all acquired by Isiah), and we're hearing that this is a new team that's going in the right direction. I mean think about it, we only have H20, KT, and Sweet remaining from last years opening roster. We traded away 12 players in Ward, Eisley, Weatherspoon, Harrington, Deke, Van Horn, Dyess, Trybanski, Lampe, Vujonic, Doleac, Frank Willaims, and 2 first round picks. Dyess & Charlie alone were worth $18 million in ending contracts. Look at the roster now. Are you happy with waht you see???

Until we get a real big man and we start playing some D with heart, this team isn't going anywhere anytime soon. We'll still be in the sucky stinky world. We just look more flashy at times than last yr.
