25 years is so long that we were still 2 years away from the LeBron, Dwade, Melo, and of course Mike Sweetney draft. We were a year away from giving up on Camby (and the lottery for a season) and making McDyess the savor for the next iteration of the team. Of course the Marbury attempt was a couple years away as well. In these last 25 years we have seen few highlights and many more lowlights. Embarrassing names were dubbed possible saviors. Prior to the last 4 years, the highlights in chronological order included getting Mike D’Antoni to try to reinvent what had become an outdated franchise in an early modernizing era, Linsanity, followed directly by the peak Melo season, Porzingis looking like a superstar for a short period, and then of course getting to this Brunson-led group. Everything in between scaled between bad-really bad- and catastrophic.

Despite all of this, this site and forum was the outlet for most of us for some of that 25 years or all of it. Martin and Andrew provided it at just the right time 25 years ago, and it’s only fitting that 25 years later, the Knicks finally put together the team that climbed the mountain top. Congrats on an incredible milestone, and here’s to another 25 years of talking Knicks basketball!

Holy cow, thanks for pointing this out! 25 years man. I had forgotten if we had beaten RealGM for kickoff and I think so but could be wrong on that?

I thought realgm came first. But I could be wrong. It was around the same time. ESPN also had team forums that died around this time right ?

ESPN, NYTimes and a few other forums died off within a few years I think.

Honorable mention: Josh Hart would be number 11. His contributions in 3 1/2 years have been culture setting
Kurt Thomas actually played 4 really good seasons in the UK era, plus a quick return before retirement
Jeremy Lin just for a fascinating short period of time
Houston and Sprewell both played 2 decent seasons with the Knicks after 2001 as the team declined
Marbury had some moments but was the biggest disappointment overall

11. Josh Hart (no brainer, high impact culture guy for 3 1/2 years and counting)
12. Barrett (helped the turnaround for 4+ years)
13. Houston (4 years with the team post prime/ allstar years)
14. Kurt Thomas (4 years as Knicks starter and double double machine)
15. Bridges (2 complicated but good years starting all 82 games for champs)
16. Crawford (really good Knicks during bad era for 4+ years)
17. Sprewell (had 2 solid years wrapping up elite Knicks career)
18. McBride (5 years and counting as a mainstay rotation guy on great teams)
19. JR Smith (6th man award winner on good team)
20. Derrick Rose (2 Knicks stops with a nice peak on playoff team)
21. Nate Robinson (4 fun years of highlights during down times)
22. Quickley (6th man role similar to Nate)
23. Marbury (had to put him somewhere on the list)
24. Quentin Richardson (quality 4 year starter on bad teams)
25. DiVincenzo (could put anyone here who had big moments (like Jeremy Lin) but Donte gets extra credit for a big 3pt shooting season and some really big playoff moments.
