Reminds me of Jordan Hill/Kevin Knox but not drafted as high. -21 tonight against summer league players. Seems like a nice dude but time to give his spot on the roster to someone else.

He already did his part. We needed a rookie to take less than the max rookie scale and it helped us get our first ring in 53 years. He got himself a ring and made good money for doing us a solid. With that being said, its time to move on.

Knicks should stop trying to get French players. Jury is still out with Mo D too.

No, they should draft more of them. The French players are turning out to be the best athletes in the world.

I don't know what they are doing in the training programs but they got the best basketball, volleyball, soccer players in the world and I don't know if it's close.

From a raw, physical standpoint, I don't think I could name another country that is producing more elite pro athletes across the board.

Dadiet makes more than the minimum, so he’s a useful salary for trade. That’s the only reason he’s still on the roster. That being said, the Knicks could also trade him into another team’s cap space, replace him with Sochan and pay him a little more money than the minimum. Same idea but for a player who can actually play some 4-5 minutes. And still sign a center (Robbins maybe earning it) for depth with the 14th spot. Either way, Dadiet isn’t going to be on this roster after February at the latest, he’s just for trade purposes at this point.

Dadiet hasn't shown out but folks are making definitive statements about him because of what they are seeing in Summer League? That's the measuring stick? That is strange to me.

Dadiet might be playing with an injury?
But I guess all French Knicks get injured all the time?
I'd defer to his Gleague stats over summer league:
https://www.basketball-reference.com/gleague/players/d/dadiepa01d.html

Now, im not saying he gonna be knick long term or an NBA player of any substance, but summer league either way is not a good measure in many ways.

Dadiet is the second youngest player on team, after Jack Kayil

Just not the ones the Knicks get.

They are different because French infants eat Brie and drink Beaujolais within three days of birth.

You have seen enough ball from players we have drafted such as Jordan Hill/Kevin Knox which I previously mentioned…they were young too but lack that “it” factor and Dadiet does not have that.

The Knicks have a history of making bad picks in the 1st round and this adds to the list.

He was part of our championship roster so he gets a pass for last year but I expect him to be included in a trade as an expiring contract. Knicks will not be picking up his option whenever that deadline is.

Yes, they gave him the SL to showcase himself on the outside chance he turned a corner and went bang! and changed his narrative, but it didn't happen. He did well enough actually, but he is a third year player so he had to dominate in SL and he did not. His showing in Vegas was not enough to secure his future with the Knicks.

Since he did not change the narrative, he is now exactly that, an expiring contract for the FO to use by the trade deadline, nothing more. He is dead weight on this roster, because they are very unlikely to pick up his option next year with even more salary cap issues looming due to big extensions coming up.

I could be wrong, but I doubt he will get any steady rotation minutes to open the season.

If I am right, then the only scenarios that alters that outcome are:

a) multiple injuries to our rotation giving him one more chance at redemption; or

b) Diawara stumbles so badly, he gets another shot at minutes if Nickel hasn't already gobbled them up.

In both cases, that'd be his last shot at showing he can bring the heat.

Pacome is Kevin Knox 2.0 he’s got all the talent in the world no desire no motor lackadaisical he’s set up for failure. He’s not talented enough to get minutes on this roster . He is the definition of a waste of a roster space.

We’re probably going to have to pay somebody to take him off our roster… or package him as a salary filler in a trade…

Mark my words, not only will he not be on this team after this year he more than likely will be playing for a different team to start this season.

Yeah this one absolutely makes some sense. Knicks could add a second round pick and the bucks would probably say yes. The Knicks seem to have liked Sims too. The only reason I could see the Knicks declining is because maybe they don’t want to give up that extra salary in Dadiet (he makes about 200k more than Sims) because they want to save it for the deadline so they have more matching salary to work with.

You may be right. However, let's give him the next training camp to see if he plays better.

SL was Dadiet's opportunity to claim rotation minutes.

If he couldn't stake his claim in SL, I don't see how he is going to do better in training camp where the competition is way beyond SL levels

Dadiet at this point is an expiring contract…
