Hi there Knicks fans,

Apologies in advance, I'm new here and appreciate starting a new topic straight off the bat may be a little self indulgent and forward.

I've been following the Knicks for 36 years from the other side of the world in Australia.

It's been a lifelong dream to see the Knicks play at MSG, I'm planning a trip next year and have bought tickets. Though I realised after buying the tickets the seats are directly behind the camera well (section 224, row 3). From what I've read online and the photos on 'a view from my seat', the view can be quite obstructed by the camera crew. I'm interested in any experiences from sitting in these seats so I have a better idea on what to expect.

First world problems I know and apologies again for the request, any advice is greatly appreciated.

I also just wanted add, I love my country and I'm a proud Australian, but I'm so ashamed of the massacre at Bondi on the weekend, for any of you touched by it, I am deeply sorry, that's not the Australia I know or grew up in.

I’ve sat there yes your view will be partially obstructed. You can sell the tix on Stubhub and buy tix in the blue heaven cheap seats in the upper rafters. You can still see everything unobstructed

I personally like 208, 214, 221, 227 or the standing only section in the 300s.

This is unforgiveable!

Zero Alba posts?!? Shameful.

By the way, congrats on not getting eaten by anything, poisoned, or pummeled to death by a kangaroo.

Thank you Martin, Greatly appreciated! I was born in the outer suburbs of Melbourne, then moved to Canberra when I was in my mid 20's in 2001 and have been there ever since. Canberra is a smaller city, doesn't have the greatest reputation as being as vibrant as the big cities but I like it & it's only a couple of hours from some great beaches and fishing.

Have you been to Australia? If not, hope you can visit one day. Hope this isn't a silly question, are you from New York? Had wondered if there are also a lot of Knick fans in New Jersey too, now that the NJ Nets are no more and if states close by like Long Island also have plenty of Knick support?

Hahahaha, thanks for the chuckle Alba. We certainly have a reputation, it's always wise to check your shoes for spiders before putting them on if you've left them outside for the night.

Guess you just get used to the spiders and odd snake here and there. We don't have any big threatening land carnivores like the USA, Grizzlies and Mountain Lions are very impressive animals, would not want to come across one of them!

Australia has made massive contributions to adult entertainment with such luminaries as Angela White, Savannah Bond and Hayley Davies. No one can ever take that away! Welcome to the forum.😃

Knicks dominate the NY metropolitan area for the most part. Nets started on Long island in the ABA and had a nice following. Back then you could root for both. NEts moved to Jersey and fell out with Many. Southern NJ has its fair share of 76er fans given proximity to Philladelphia.

I been To Sydney and Cairns about 30 years ago. Wonderful place and memories! Great seafood and beer!!! LOL

What made you become a knick fan?

Hi Nalod, really interesting history on the Nets in Long Island, in the ABA, then in NJ and Sth NJ's proximity to Philadelphia, thanks for that mate! Must admit, I find the State make up of the USA really fascinating, right back to British colonisation. It seems each State in the USA has its own very clear identity, which I really admire.

Sydney and Cairns are great spots, and absolutely, both great for any lover of seafood and icy cold beer (what a match made in heaven!).

Back in the late 80's we used to get one NBA game televised each week on a Saturday morning. I liked the sport but didn't have a team yet. New York vs Philadelphia was on one week, NY were down by a good margin most of the night, then mounted a terrific comeback, I remember Ewing of course and I think Gerald Wilkins for the Knicks but only remember Gminski for Philadelphia. Anywho, after that game, I thought this is my team.

They've been a great team to follow over the years, ups and downs yes, but they have a toughness and edge and part of that comes across very clearly on the broadcasts from the crowd at MSG. My brother and I used to call the MSG crowd, during playoffs especially in the early- mid 90's, 'the man crowd' because it was loud, intense, intimidating and loaded with hostility towards the opposition - like no other crowd in the NBA. A couple of years ago when the Knicks were playing Indiana at home in the playoffs, my brother sent me a random text message and said 'the man crowd is back!'.

Would love to hear your history following the Knicks too Nalod, and anyone else on here of course too.

Thanks again - cheers.

I used to curse basketball for always being on channel 9. I mean, who watches that crap anyway? The Yankees were my jam.

Then one day there must have been absolutely nothing on, so I decided to watch a few minutes.

Knicks vs Pistons. Ewing, Oak, Rodman. I was hooked. I wish I could remember more details. But I didn’t miss a single game for about the next 20 years.

And now I can’t understand how anybody watches baseball.

Old story.....in 1971 my uncle who was an importnat man in my life given my dead beat father was a piece of ****, got seasons tickets to knicks after they won the chip in 1970. So I kind of missed that and the two seaosns that lead up to it but thats how it went.
Go t about 3-4 gams for that season, 1972, and the chip year in 1973! Uncle died at age 48 that year which was a real heartbreak for me and my mom. He was a good man!

Meanwhile, we moved to Long island and DR J became an Net. They winning a chip in 1974 and 1976. Used to go to a lot of games as it was not far and inexpensive. I went to the very last ABA game which was final game 7 vs. Denver where Nets rallied from down 23 pts in second half! ABA folded, Nets, Pacers, Nuggs and Spurs all went to NBA. Knicks demanded a 6million dollar payment from nets and they were offered DR J, but instead wanted the money. Idiots! Dr J insteadwent to Philly, Nets after a bad year in NBA on Long island moved to New Jersey.

It was easy, my teams won chips in 1973, 1974 and 1976! No basketball chips since!!! Crazy......
Nalod moved to North Carolina many years ago but still Knicks are tops in my book!

Might want to say how long you will be there, and perhaps other cities or locations? You visiting someone? Touring? Cruise stop?
Cities are cultural experiences so if you into art? Food? Music? Architecture?
For me, I had limted travel experiences (my country count is up to 39 now), but then rainforest and south pacific tropic exeprience in a short 8 day window took me to Cairns. From there you can get to great barrier reef which was a bucket list item for me. Rented a 1967 MG convertable and drove to Mission beach and surrounding areas. This was in 1992.
In Sydney, Kings road has some interesting night life if thats your thing. Very relaxed blue laws.
In Cairns I bought some opels which proved to be a nice small investment for Mrs. Nalod to have some nice jewlery made from them. Our Friend is from Melbourne but Im sure has good advice for you.

Apologies in advance - seeking MSG seating advice
