I will choose either McBuckets or DSJ.

Dougy gives us shooting/movement and Dennis would give us extra D, paint touches and physicality.

Smith Jr might allow us to go small where Deuce/Cam maybe play more off ball - playing off Smith Jr penetration.

If Shamet is only out a month, I'd keep him. If he's out for the season or half a season, I'd sadly have to cut him and give that spot to TJ Warren. I would also look into Reggie Bullock.

Faltz is a FA unsigned and not in a camp! Thats crazy.
I think we good and our FO has this covered.
Stands to reason someone fresh on the waiver wire is on their short list. If Fultz was he'd be here by now.

I’m a bit surprised Reggie Bullock is out there. He was decent in Dallas and then got pinched for rotation minutes last year in Houston with their youth/depth. He seems like he can still do what he always did. But I see them keeping Shamet if it’s a short term thing, but if it’s longer term I see Marcus Morris getting his chance.

While the odds of signing a guy named Poo is low, they are never zero. You have to keep Shamet if there is a chance you can have a back court of Sham-Poo

It all depends on what Thibs thinks of TJ Warren. The craziest thing though is how many ex Knicks are on the available players list

TJ Warren is already here, has been in camp and has looked good in games. He is a true 2 with size to swing to 4 and has serious NBA scoring pedigree. It should be his spot if Landry isnt kept

Pooh Jeter and Pooh Richardson are both retired.

I think Kolek should get Sammich’s minutes. Shamet is nothing special, I’d cut him and keep TJ

I'd take a careful look at the remaining FAs before deciding. I agree a wing would be nice. But I'm willing to sacrifice offense for defense. Anyone know just how washed Robert Covington is

I kinda feel bad for Shams - he got hurt making a play and we’re just ready to toss him to the side?

I was thinking of how Starks made the team because he got hurt in training camp.

I mean, up to me, I’m inclined if they were going to give him the spot, do it regardless of his injury.

Can't we keep him under contract with out G-League team if the injury is serious enough that he might be out until the first months of next year? He's already under a sort of contract.

Just using Randle's shoulder as a marker. Will Shamet even be ready by All Star break? This bench was already thin. It's time. This team has title aspirations and now is not the time to get sentimental. As an aside I think the Knicks were already going to cut Starks before his injury. They were forced to keep him because of a rule at time that prevented them from cutting him while he was injured.

I don’t think we can keep Warren under the hard cap since he’s a 10 year vet

A minimum deal for a 10-year veteran like Warren would be $3,303,771, per Spotrac.

He was brought in after the KAT trade, right? You have to think Brock Aller has one more trick up his sleeve.

Agree. Cam looks like a good signing, but we still need more help. Especially with Shamet hurt. Deuce leveled up, but he’s a known commodity now and will be scouted that way. Cam has an effective dribble drive, he can get to the rim, get to the line. Deuce still needs work on that part of his game. Teams are going to play him closer this season, try to take away those open looks. Unless that part of his game takes the same leap that his shooting did, we need more players who can consistently get to the rim. Kolek looks like he will fit the bill in time, but needs more seasoning. Trading Mitch is the best shot we have of getting a scoring threat.

The Knicks bench is sort of thin in large part due to Mitch already out for half the season.

The positional versatility of our roster is pretty impressive - Bridges, OG, Hart, and Achiuwa can be deployed in a lot of ways.

I saw Shamet as filling a niche as a decent sized wing shooter off the deep bench. I sort of had some doubts he’d be in the rotation though.

We have nearly a full lineup worth of developmental players on our roster - Dadiet, McCullar (any word on whether he’s getting closer to playing?), Kolek, Hukporti. Dead weight or ready to contribute as injury reserves?

I think that all the rookies have legit talent, not to overhype them but to actually be of use during the season. But at our situation as contenders, there is definitely a need for a wing scoring option off the bench. Shamet looked promising with his 3pt shooting and hopefully we can keep him around as he recovers, but Warren is now a legit option and I wouldn’t put it past Rose to strike a deal out-of-nowhere for a young veteran minimum.

Bruh we just traded Randle a day after he donated a million dollar court to NYC and had all the Knick ambassadors join him for the event, and Donte before the Nova boys reunion ever kicked off. If Shamet is out for awhile he's gone.
