Seems like some optimism he could be back - so no cash, but potentially a better outcome if he can be around for the playoffs. Even if he could just give us 15 mins of run and some extra fouls that is potentially huge news.

Hopefully this is the case. He would be excellent to backup Hartenstein for about 20 mpg in the late season and playoffs. Then reassess the starter situation next year. Hartenstein deserves real consideration because of his skill set meshing so well with the starters and his offensive game providing a little more versatility. But not to discredit Mitch’s game. He’s elite at what he does. This is a great problem to have. 2 young centers putting it all together at the same time.

Maybe a Hartenmackenstien combo to get us going until Mitch returns?

Great news! I have been waiting on this for awhile. It means exactly what it says, Robinson should be available later in the season. It will be real interesting the next few months and add some more fuel to our collective fires debating whether Robinson should come back as the starter or off the bench. I'm actually OK with Robinson starting quarters and Harte Stein finishing them with each guy playing 24 a game. We'love see what happens.

Does this news make the Knicks legitimate contenders?

I mean, not really worried bout the DPE with those trade exceptions lying around. Delighted that we could get MitchBeast back. Confused for what it means between Hart and Mitch cause Hart is just flat out ballin with the first unit. Kind of think Robinson could work on a stronger role with the second unit. Get his mojo back to those early 20/10 games he had in his first couple years.

Pretty sure Robinson should be second unit.

You know I gonna spin wit it

“NBA doctors were unable to determine that Robinson would likely be out until mid-June, sources said.“

I read that as there’s simply a chance he could come back before mid-June.

🤞

to the euphoric fans, it nearly guarantees it.
Frustrated reality? he has setbacks, or we are cautious,, or he returns and needs a month to get his timing back.
Mitch had a healthy summer and came in as the best version we have seen. A lot of things have to fall into place for him to have an impact. Mostly what we do without him to get a favorable setting and perhaps winning a round.
I doubt we rush him too soon, but......
While no two surgeries are the same consider Randle. He had all summer to get heal and then needed two weeks or more to get his mojo back. Mitch is very physical player and thats his edge.
If the above can be accomplished then yeah, we might contend with the best in the east. Long season to go for Milwaukee and Philly. We could very well push into the top3. Finish 4 or 5 you likely face one of them or Miami in the first round.

Rob on one foot is still better than Achiuwa.

Knicks are already tilting towards old for a core to win a championship. My feeling is if it's going to happen, this is the year. That means Knicks will need to?be all hands on deck for the playoffs. I don't really see them holding Mitch Rob out for next season. The original prognosis was 8-10 weeks, we're already about halfway there.

As smooth as OG has entered the lineup, making perfect cuts, finding his spot in the corner and literally covering all our holes defensively, Achiuwa has been the opposite. Guy is running around the court like a chicken with his head chopped off. He's been able to grab some boards, but he kinda looks lost on where to be. Now this guy has had moments of being effective in the past, but clearly this isn't a guy that can just step on the court and know what to do the way that OG seems to be an instinctual/smart player.

They originally quoted an 8-10 week recovery from the surgery. Even if that's true on the long end, maybe we see him in late March early April? Probably very optimistic, but at this point, gotta hope its possible. Still gotta remember what he did to the Cavs

Does that include rehab? 8-10 weeks until the next evaluation I thought. Hoping I'm wrong.

I don't know man...no facts or figures here but reflecting on the history of injury prone 7 footers...would love for him to be back but rushing doesn't feel prudent.
