It's just preseason but Fournier deserves a little love for his stand out play. Averaging %50 from the field and %46 from 3pt and 3.5 rebounds. Compared to RJ who is averaging %33 from the field and %23 from 3pt with 2 rebounds. Fournier is averaging 13 ppg and RJ 17 ppg If the season started today, I would have to give Evan the edge over RJ. Evan can spread the floor, has been more efficient with his shot selection and is rebounding like someone who is giving effort. Neither is a good defender but both are trying on defense preseason stats |

Nice pipe dream for fans, but Thibs not changing. EF is putting up great stats because he's angry, wants to be traded and Thibs wants him traded. So Thibs is giving EF minutes and the green light. If everybody is healthy, EF will barely play, if he plays at all. But later in the season, I can see DDV getting more PT and eventually closing out games. The future is bright, I'm a Knicks fan for life!

Quentin Grimes averaging 20 min, 5 pts at %36 from the field and %25 from 3pt. I thought Grimes would be a better shooter. His form is pure. I also thought he would start to be more assertive about getting his shots. I also thought the same about Frank. Of the 3 players, Evan is playing the best. Thibs is all about winning every game plain and simple. Evan is doing what he needs to do to earn a spot in a rotation. The numbers don't lie |

It’s only preseason, but Fournier’s +/- is absurdly bad. Like worst on team bad. Just saying but he is in the NBA and had another player comfortable dribbling the ball between his legs. Pencils down. You know I gonna spin wit it

This game was brutal for him. |

If you really look, they are all pretty bad. He can’t get back with his man on defense. It doesn’t look like it’s him, but the defense is broken on pretty much any possession change that occurs without a play stoppage. It’s not his shooting, it’s his plus minus. Other teams outscore him when he is on the floor. Unfortunately, that’s his most defining stat and not his eFG, his 3pts Made it 3pt %. The team with him on the floor does not win. Makes him perfect for the Wizards and terrible for us. You know I gonna spin wit it

I was hopeful he could be effective in the second unit at SF. I just don't think he has the defensive chops to break even on a competitive team. His shooting skills are just overshadowed by his defensive liabilities. Its weird because he has the footwork at the 3 point line to create space, but doesn't have the footwork on defense to keep a ballhandler in front of him. He plays angles, but often gives up too much space on the break and gives away fast break points when he can keep up. He overreaches on steal attempts, so he generally has above average steals, but when he misses, the entire defense is collapsed because he ends up out of position on the steal attempt. Its all stuff that could be fixed with a return to fundamentals, but he is so caught up in thinking his treatment is unfair that he isn't seeing his shortcomings. Compare him to quickley and grimes who are doing the little things correctly (but aren't as good on offense - I said it) - but their overall value is tremendously higher, as shown by Quickley's Plus Minus versus Fournier. EF has to ask himself what IQ is doing that he isn't and the answer is pretty simple, he is staying in front of his man. Everything else stems from that. You know I gonna spin wit it
