![]() There's a lot of talk on social media about Trae Young deserving the Team USA nod over Brunson. I just compared their stats from last season. Can someone help me see if?

Theose PnRs with JJJ looked smooth. Always... always remember: Less is less. More is more. More is better and twice as much is good too. I think another year will help out players become more familiar. No one is saying Mitch is JJJ, but I still think it's a weapon that be utilized more. Always... always remember: Less is less. Are the Knicks the same team starting this year as they were last year? Last year your coming off 37 wins, moved some high end draft options (Duran/Jalen Williams) to make space for what most in the NBA community saw as an overpay for a new PG. They added some depth at center as well. Brunson/Randle/Mitch hadnt played a minute together. Cam Reddish was a rotation hopeful. This season the Knicks are coming off a 2nd round exit and are LOOKING to break 50 wins and compete with the top seeds BEHIND the play off all star(s) Brunson and Randle. This is simply NOT the same team (+Josh Hart) that started last year and its wild to think it is. "winning is more fun... then fun is fun" -Thibs

I would rather be playing the 5, 6,7 or 8th best team in the first round than the 1,2 or 3rd best. It was interesting to see Brunson as the facilitator on team USA. He would have had more assists if not for missed wide open shots. I see Brunson doing some recruiting for the future. I love Mitch's defense but he has not improved or added to his offensive game at all. Not to mention he always brings the ball down where the guards can rip it from his hands after rebounds. Mitch is a lob threat and that's about it unfortunately. On D though, he is the man |

![]() If Brunson plays well and they win he likely gets a nod for the Olympic team.
Guys like Durant and Booker could also come on. World cup and Olympics are back to back years this cycle. Trae's window might have closed. Read that international game does not favor slight/small players. Brunson is not Jrue Holliday but he is no skinny dude either. I saw Rubio has stepped away for "Mental Health" reasons. Of course I want USA to win, but I like games that matter rather than a rout. Makes it more meaningful and an real accomplishment. |

![]() Takes big balls to go full FA for a player in his prime. THe leverage of a trade to a suitable team is thing.
Knick fans vilified Melo for not doing it but it was in response to the high price we paid to get him. Was it high? Different era and time. Both teams came out ok on that trade short term. Denver perhaps better longer term. But focus was on immeadiate return for knicks. With CBA now as it is players are incentivized to extend both monetarily and with security. Few teams can open up such massive cap space and compete soon after now. I think the allure of MSG and NY is real again but the price to gain that and contend is harder now. That said, I like the direction was have gone and moving to. Seems to be full of contingencies beyond a “Plan A starphuch”. True success must include Drafting the stars. For all the “failures” we succeeded in signing two FA’s unrestricted whose play outperforms their contracts: Jules and Brunson. Next up is StarJay who |
