Just reported that Harden picked up his option and is going to work with Philly on a trade.

What does this mean for Embid if they trade Harden. Are they going to rebuild or look for a piece to pair with Joel?

I know, all noise of him wanting to go, then leave.
But.......he opted in. Reality is Rockets don't want him, and Philly needs to keep Embiid happy and perhaps unlock Harris who has been underutilized.

Knicks are interested? Randle haters will send Randle. those bored with RJ will send him, EF naturally.....IQ? They already have his other Lil Bow Wow KU twin.

Defense? Inflexible Thibs had the 6th best offense last year and defense suffered. Remember when Harden blocked dudes shots in playoffs and played good defense? If you hate him you don't. He can play defense. If he wants. I don't know if you can get him to.

So one caveat via Bobby Marks: Harden not extension eligible (extended by 2 years previously) and will be UFA in 2024. Puts a ginormous cramp on what teams will trade him for unless Leon’s son suddenly becomes his agent.

So ixnay on trading the likes of Grimes or iHart.

Hmm odd contract limitation.
Not extension eligible, but team would have Larry Bird rights…

I think he’d be a gamechanging shot maker and playmaker… and would be better for Brunson than RJ/Grimes/Quickley.

It all comes down to how much you have to give to get him.

Stupid. Interested if it is for a rock bottom price. Let him go to the Heat. Harden can play but when he plays his best he is 1A he seems like a culture killer. When he isn't 1A he seems to fade and seem disinterested.

Personally I'd rather wait.

Harden demands a trade like every offseason it seems smh. But besides that, watching him play is not enjoyable and he is just not a likeable player imo. I'd be down with being a 3rd team and getting something cheap from the Clippers though.

I dont want him on a knicks uniform next year. It will severely limit the team's window to 2-3 years only and at what cost!

I think this is why the Knicks are involved in all trade rumors because we have a healthy number of picks and yoots which is perfect as a 3rd wheel for any trade. Sixers or clippers may demand something neither can provide and will need help from the Knicks. Make that chess move Leon. Take advantage of teams hungry to make a deal work.

knicks should try to steal him and at the very least keep an close eye on Embiid.
A team without harden opens more for Harris and maxy, so lest not bury Sixers yet. They need not hit a home run on trading Harden for them to still compete. Reality is Harden as the 2nd option and primary ball handler at his age and stage rarely goes to a good ending and father time never loses.

Seems that if Clippers run it back one more year and don’t extend PG13 and the enigma that is Kawhi (talk about a polarizing situation) its logical to bring him in and take it year to year.

Balmer is frustrated by the lack of health by the clips in the 4 years they have had this. Yet fans who saw it coming together sure a **** saw it? Few times pundits had Clippers as favorites preseason. On paper they were formitable.
You could have Westbricck, PG13, Kawahi and Harden? Its like a bad reunion movie like “golden girls” or “the expendibles”.

WIndhorst has Kyrie playing a role perhaps and trying to get to philly? Basically they outlined Harden has no free agent market to speak of and Mavs really are not bidding against another. They contend it might behoove them to make Kyrie happy as he could sign a deal, not be happy with it and start his pouting act again.

Low probability Harden is a knick going forward.
