Can I get an amen?

I’m convinced that his bully steal on Jimmy Buckets on one leg is going down as one of the best plays in Knicks history—on 48.

Can I get an hallelujah?

You all know I feel a certain way about Grimes.

This gave me chills.

I'm posting this in the game thread. And in the Knick Knacks thread (Martin, can we pin that one?)

This deserves to be immortalized here.

Did you see him waive off Robinson at the end for the coup de grace?

Definitely a keeper regardless of his role in the future....He's a dawg and you need more like him to win consistently in this league...

I'm not sure how this goes uncommented on by the league.

NBA Rule: "An offensive screener must have his legs no wider than shoulder width apart, and he may not extend his legs outside the vertical plane of his body when setting a screen."

Freeze the video at the point of contact and Adebayo's legs are spread wider than...well...the rule allows. Much, much wider.

Is the league just ambivalent to injuries in the playoffs? That was probably worthy of a flagrant and the refs just chillin' silently...

He really stepped up last night. My hope is he can eventually develop the conscious (or lack of) as Strus or Robinson shooting the ball.

How the F is that not a moving pick?

fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

Mitch Robinson might need to embrace his big man role a bit more by accepting the responsibility of acting as enforcer. It might not be in his demeanor though. He presents himself as a kind yet bit aloof guy. I love the guy dearly and want the best for him, but he might need to get himself a bit of a mean streak to protect his teammates. Its like a pitcher dusting a player back. Mutually assured destruction. Bam is going to hurt one of our guys and he needs to get warned. Stepping on Brunson's ankle. The long moving pick on Grimes.

I don't need him to be dirty. I just want him to be present.

^^ Hartenstein has more enforcer in him that Mitch

iHart was ready to clock Zeller the other day, and i got the sense that if he starts throwing hands it won't be those sissy slaps so many NBAers do.

I was talking to my brother about this earlier. In all honesty my response to this is blow up the pick. Drive into him and sacrifice a few fouls to make them think about setting those picks. Knicks are too worried about going over or going under. Go through the pick a few times. They are getting called for BS fouls anyway. Maybe sacrifice some to make Miami second guess if the want to take a solid shoulder to the chest or gut.

I'll go one step further.

Mitch is a big, strong dude who can physically intimidate a ton of players in and around the rim. He has zero clue how to do actual enforcing with his physical presence that goes beyond his strength and length.

Grimes playing 48 minutes in an elimination game tells you what Thibs thinks of him. I heart this so much as Thibs development philosophy is play unrelenting D, be as aggressive on offense as possible, take good shots

I don't want to take away from Quentin's epic play (might be remembered along the lines of Stark's baseline lefty dunk) but the refs swallowed their whistle on that steal because a nanosecond before they let Bam assault and batter Quentin. (the moving screens and hip checks are out of control)

if they blew the whistle on QUentin on that play there is some chance the refs would not have left NYC alive

Anthony Davis isn't a brawler. But if someone is playing his teammates dirty, he is in the mix being intimidating. Mitch Robinson clearly has to stay healthy, first and foremost, but I do want him to be protecting his lil guys.

100%

Unfortunately for the Knicks in general, their big guys are a bit behind the learning curve and largely ineffective in that area, they would just commit bad fouls at the wrong time and put the team at more harm than good; for me, Randle and Mitch operate in that space. iHart can definitely bring intimidation but has some room to grow there.

It will come eventually. We hope

For real. Was it me or was Butler reluctant to go one on one vs Grimes all game?
