Hate the deal because you’re overpaying him in the offseason. Lot of miles there.

Even with Trent included which is nice for bench scoring makes the team very small.

We would become an unbelievably tough out though. One more scorer off the bench and this team can beat anyone.

Thanks for the context Hofstra! I think we can rightfully shrug this off as bs. People were concerned about a small backcourt with Brunson/Mitchell and now want us to believe we'll go Brunson/FVV? Even as a 6th man...no.

Fred VanVleet traded to the New York Knicks for Cam Reddish, Obi Toppin, and the Mavericks’ 2023 top-10 protected first-round draft choice
In dire need of a shooter, the Knicks’ top front-office executives need to make a move that puts them in the thick of the playoff race. This possibly puts New York in a precarious position to overpay for a small upgrade, but VanVleet is not necessarily that.

The hard-nosed heat-check shooter could also be accompanied by Gary Trent Jr., as many speculative trade proposals see these two as a package deal. Should the Knicks pass on VanVleet, don’t be surprised if they target DeMar DeRozan or Zach LaVine.

Rose Obi Cam for FVV and Thad Young works. I figure Toronto would want to throw in one more minimum or near min salary to reduce their tax burden.

Anyone else hoping Obi blows up and becomes a monster?

Just move Reddish, but out Rose. If a veteran is bought out that makes sense fine. Can’t fathom a trade so stupid for an older player that you’re going to have to give 25-30MM a year too that’s got a lot of mileage on his body.

Coach Thibs said last night after Orlando's win that both himself and our Front Office absolutely loves our roster and that he's been in the league for a long time and knows enough to know that for every 100 trade rumors we hear about as fans? Maybe only 1 of them comes true.

In other words there's a strong possibility that outside of players like Rose/EF/Cam?

No one else will be getting traded (outside of draft picks).

There is so much crap out there looking like rumors vs. a writer/blog suggesting a proposal.
Its good fodder for discussion.
Gary Trent JR. would be a better fit but that is Grimes time he'd be eating into.
I'd be ok with an OG trade but if we talking Grimes or IQ it need be the headline "We not giving anyone away".
Seems most rhetoric is everyone is available for trade but teams talkig tough about price.
massai might want a big price for OG, but it works both ways.
Is it really good asset management by him if his back court is about to free up, OG will need to be paid, and they are not peforming up to potential?
They can talk all day about how they are not selling at discount, but either they start paying players, trade them, or they walk.
I don't see FVV here given Brunson's role.

Brunson and FVV are essentially the same archtype player. Today, at least head to head, it would seem that FVV > JB. But the deal doesn't make much sense because I can't see the two together in the same lineup so, you would only be getting shots from one at the cost of the other. It kind of creates a bad situation for both players.
