Well I like our Big 3 much better then Charlotte's version. The Wizards one does look promising if they can stay healthy.

Big-3, Developing-3 etc call it what we call it. But it's no "mid-3". If anything I'm labeling it as...

An Up-And-Coming Big-3.

And if we're to include IQ alongside the likes of Jalen Brunson/R.J. Barrett/Julius Randle I'd title it as...

Fantastic-4.

Because Immanuel Quickley (with increased minutes) is now averaging 17.4 Points per game throughout his previous 19 games.

And I honestly don't know of too many NBA 4th options capable of not only providing A+ Guard Defense but also 17+ Points Per Game?

This is 🏀 (not ⚾) but Jalen Brunson, R.J. Barrett, Julius Randle and Immanuel Quickley have GRAND SLAM potential. Because come postseason play, you need multiple SCORING options/scoring threats and it's looking like the Knicks are now (finally) flourishing with Scoring threats/multiple SCORING options.

as much as I do like our three, I do find myself kind of hoping to open the paper and see that we traded RJ + other stuff for Zach LaVine

I still think the Knicks would lack a true #1, but I feel like we would have three legit #2s and would be able to play rock, paper, scissors really well

It's frustrating me that I can find a picture of Obi Toppin alongside of Brunson/R.J./Randle but yet can't (for the internet life of me) find a picture of Immanuel Quickley alongside of Brunson/R.J./Randle.

Oh well.

Beal stay healthy? Kuzma and Taj should be fine though.

Sticking to Mid 3. They start winning 50 games in a season then they can get called a Big 3.

You can argue that Brunson and Randle are both top 30 players going forward. RJ could maybe get there sometime. We will see.

Consider them as developing 3.
Still young. Have a lot of bball IQ to add to their game.
Something that comes with experience.
What's important is that we do not have a expensive Big 3 that is underperforming, old and poorly put together. Rather be in our position where we have several young players knocking on the door of being considered elite. IQ and Grimes, I feel, have the same potential. Add all the draft picks we have going into a strong draft, we can consider ourselves lucky to be on the right track. After so many years of not.

We're not there obviously. Losing sucks, especially the 4th quarter collapses and to the Nets. But now and then I reflect on how we felt as Knicks fans a few years back. Hopeless, bitter fans of the league punchline. Now we're just bitter!

Its actually a great big 3, but how do we make it a Big 3 down the stretch of games instead of 1 guy playing hero ball.

I'd call it developing - RJ is the ? - can he still get better from here?

Im not watching enough games of other teams to really be objective.
Which teams are running passing plays in crunch time to quantify an answer for the quetion: Are just plain bad at it?

How can he, not get better? Popular to contrary-belief; R.J. Barrett is still the youngest player on our entire team.

Ah, you think as highly of Trevor Keels as I do.

Oh... so if it's a case of how CANT RJ get better than why ISNT he?

He's literally the same player year after year. Feel free to elaborate on how he's improved his game.

His analytics are bad. His EFF% numbers are bad. RJ is below league average in like everything. He's not a plus defender. He's a bulldozer who gets to the basket. He's got one outlier season shooting the 3 well that gave us hope. We have not seen anything like that sophomore season.

RJ is starting to remind me to Myles Turner... same guy year after year. He seems good but isnt really. I hope I'm wrong. RJ is a young guy and likable but he's been 100% "meh" for 4 years outside of the 2nd year where we were tricked

I'll agree to disagree.

His point scoring has increased every single year and here in 2022-2023 he's having a career year in True Shooting Percentage.

And technically speaking this year of 2022-2023 should only be his Rookie NBA season (had he stayed in school all 4 years).

PS: Both of his 2PT% and FT% percentages are @ a career high here in 2022-2023 so you're (downright) lying when claiming he's the "same player" he was as a Rookie.
