(they decided not to renew which was $11mil per year). However if he goes to the Lakers and they're successful, he gets maybe a max deal from the Lakers next summer and the sponsors come crawling back. It would be a game. Essentially a one year opt in with the Nets now, or take a $6mil all or nothing gamble with the Lakers, in which longer term he ends up with more money (though much riskier), or settle for the certain 1 year deal now and try not to implode again. |
