OG Anunoby is an elite defender and a pure SF at 6'8". RJ is an up and coming 6'6" bulldog who just turned 22 and is from Toronto.

Which team asks for more in this trade? Or which team immediately says HELL NO?

I will never understand or be able to gauge marketing value of a player but RJ gotta be up there in terms of fit with Raptors. No idea if Raptors value that or if they value that enough.

No idea if OG Anunoby fits the Knicks better but I'd guess he is more SF and better defender than RJ and that fits Thibs philosophy.

Imagine a lineup of Brunson, Grimes, OG Anunoby, Obi, Mitch down the line.

Not advocating for this swap, just want to see the reactions

What's up with OG's missed games? Is he injury prone? Otherwise he looks like a legit target, I like his high EFG %.

haha yeah. I will always love RJ deep down cause he is a Knicks player and I love everything that comes with his pro attitude but his flaws are too glaring for me to not doubt him at every step

We are the same. See I love his work ethic and attitude but he dosent have 1 skill he doss particularly well. I feel like we kinda owe it to the kid for one more season but if the right deal is out there u take it. OG right now is definitely the better shooter and defender but he is also 3 years older. On paper we’d still be the ones saying hell no, but w/ more assets u might have to consider it.

100% agree.

OG has 2 more years on his deal. RJ is in the position where team needs to offer near max.

OG is an example of why RJ should not get the max. OG makes $18m per year. Suppose RJ's agent argues that his client is ahead of where OG was at the same age. Fine. Then RJ can get an out option in 2-3 years, so that he can re-up at the max if his game proves he is worth it.

I am now thinking that RJ is a $20m per year player at most.

Yeah, if they trade RJ it's gonna be in a package for a piece better than OG. I probably wouldn't do it myself. I think it's an overpay.

I doubt the Raptors are ready to move off of OG, but forget trading RJ too. I would love to attach a crap ton of picks to Fournier and see if the Raptors take that deal.

Like Fournier. The four extra draft picks and maybe a Knicks pick Swaps for OG Anunoby.

Brunson/IQ/Rose
RJ/Grimes
OG/Reddish
Randle/Obi
Mitch/Sims

Could maybe come out the conference. Not a team with a star, but definitely a team others would want to avoid in the playoff.

Still want to get rid of RJ, Mart-in?? Not saying that Barrett is untouchable. Believe your asking price is too low. If we could have put together a package for the 2 pick (Holmgren), that would be worth considering. Otherwise, RJ is the embodiment of a change the culture player, and he's getting better.

Martin- this might be a great trade. I have long thought we should trade RJ to the Raptors- that he’d be a perfect player for them to overpay for all the way around- but then I am a German football fan and think how Bayern Munich is basically the same as their national team, and the Raptors should be the same as well.
