The Knicks trading a bunch of young assets for a an always injured headcase who we will be forced to trade inside of 2 years would literally set us back another 10 years

Get kyrie and draft the best center, assuming Mitch could be gone. That’s 2 holes to fill. I still think a shooting big acquisition is needed to open the floor for this youth energy led by IQ playing off Kyrie and learning at the same time. Forget his off the court self righteousness. On the court he’s an assassin and these young guards we have can always take a little piece of wisdom and basketball art to increase their skill set. I think it’s a short term backup plan that’s a win win for both sides.

If that is the cost, I am all for it. Feel the Nets would want young/draft assets though.
Irving has always been a problem with fan bases but yet to hear that his teammates had a problem with him. So there is that. We just have to keep in mind that he can still ball but not the guy that played in Cleveland. Fans sometimes remember the pinnacle of aging trade prospects and not the aged reality.

Like Carmelo, Kyrie is not perfect but he is the better player of the two.
Truly believe Kyrie would be beloved by Knicks fans because the dude is straight up cold blooded and can win games by himself.

Would also make a great story every time he goes up against the Nets. Kyrie and Ben Simmons both need the ball in their hands, so do not see that as a match; despite his friendship with the best player in the world, KD.
