You can see his upper end energy. He’s not a good all around basketball player but with his powerful athletic body he can still accomplish things in a way that can help teams win. If things went way right for him he has the physical ability to be a poor mans modern day Rodman type. I don’t think he has anywhere near the iq Rodman had but he could be a great defender/ rebounder. We’re gonna need another skill center even if we keep sims and mitch but I think Sims if we can lock him up to a very cheap 3-4 year 1-1,5 mm per yr contract to have on the roster for the longer term

Not going to get too worked up but looks like he can be a useful player in the league and a good value for where he was picked.

Yes, hope the Knicks make him a full time guy and extend him for 2 years to get bird rights at least.

Love this kid. Hopefully he breaks out of his shell and can talk and direct defense eventually.

I agree that he is going to be a great rebounder and defender but I don't think he is in the Rodman mold. The Worm is one of a kind and I don't think he will be duplicated. However, I think Sims has a potential to be Ben Wallace 2.0.

He’s like a modern day athletic Greg kite with more upside. There’s a spot in the leAgud for a big body with energy who wants to do the dirty work. That would not stop me from drafting or trading over him. Nor would he be free of being a throw in type but on basis a quality pick at 58 who can have a niche

There's definitely a spot for him on the Knicks!

Love the way he sets picks

I'm late to the party. Was not too big on Sims, even while UK was singing his praises. Definitely raw, often out of place in offense. Why do we always overhype our picks, even #58!?!

More minutes, more consistency, more progress.

Energy still there. A little better within our sets (doesn't hurt that we've been playing faster). He's looking for those offensive boards - just like Mitch, which brings more consistency (there's that word again!) to the floor. Hang around the paint and RJ/Quick will find you on the drive.

I'm good with the wall of Jericho.

Maybe we can have our version of the Davis boys of Indiana with Mitch and Jericho

Yeah, he definitely is more Ben Wallace than Rodman. I don't know that Sims has Wallace's lateral quickness, but he definitely looks like he could be a 10+ rebounder if given 33 minute a game. What he will have to show is if he can block shots and consistently anchor the defense, but his hops and energy are excellent. He has the potential to be a good starter in this league.

Trust the Process

I like him as a backup. Love him as a long term 3rd string center.

It’s a compliment😺
First of he played 13.5 years in the nba. Sims will be a wealthy guy if he has the same career.

I don’t see Rodman at all. I do see a younger deandre though who had hops could rebound and defend

Yeah he’s not starter ready but definitely a keeper or trade asset. I also noticed he’s the same height as Randle give or take an inch. So he’s an undersized center. Usually when you are shorter than most centers you should have better foot speed and balance on offense. Something he needs to work on in the off season. Offensive moves in the post.

Players Taken 58 in the draft.

https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/58th-nba-overall-draft-picks

Looks like Lester Hudson is the man to beat for best player at 58. Might be missing someone I don't nearly recognize.

You know I gonna spin wit it
