The Moment of Truth (shall set us free).

Reason why I wanted to create this thread is because I've enjoyed everyone here down right an awesome NYK community. Even for the one's I've disagreed with I thank you because it's been fun talking NY basketball again. But sometimes I get confused. Confused on which fans favor or dislike which players. So in order to learn more about our basketball personalities I figured this topic would go along ways for my understanding of everyone's (different) NY basketball head mentalities.

What I mean by favorites, are the one's who you stick up for the most and/or the one's you believe can help take us far moving forward or just the one's who can fire you up the most.

(And of course our rankings can change any moment).

1.) Julius Randle.
2.) Mitchel Robinson.
3.) R.J. Barrett.
4.) Obi Toppin.
5.) Immanuel Quickley.
6.) Quentin Grimes.
7.) Derrick Rose.
8.) Kemba Walker.
9.) Deuce McBride.
10.) Jericho Sims.

There is not a single game that goes by. That these 10 players don't fire me up heading into games. I never know which one will become our MVP (any given night) and it's pretty exciting for me so I refuse to trash their talents after every single game. Because I know what these guys are capable of when locked in a zone. These 10 players above? I hope they make the playoffs this year and this time healthy as a unit. Because if so. The electricity in the Garden will go nuts.

11.) Nerlens Noel.
12.) Alec Burks.
13.) Taj Gibson.

These 3 players I consider glue pieces for a long season. I don't really talk about them too often. I just understand that they all have different roles to play. I appreciate when they contribute to winning basketball as role playing role players but I don't really enjoy posting about them all too often.

14.) Kevin Knox.
15.) Evan Fournier.

Yes. It's true. I almost completely left Evan Fournier off my list. But I just couldn't rank Damyean Dotson, Wayne Selden or Tyler Hall ahead of Evan Fournier. At least Fournier is fun in the Olympics for team France. But other than that, I just don't enjoy his game when on the court and/or his energy. But I'd love by seasons end for him to prove me wrong and show me that I never gave him a chance (not even 35 games in).

Those are my 1-15.

Sheesh man. Not here to judge our lists but Ewing #7 and Lin #5? 1 month of Lin vs Patrick Ewing's knees 15+ years? To each our own.

Phil. I'd love to see your list of 1-15 with current 2021-2022 Knicks players?

Ewing was a douche in real life. From what I’ve heard he’s mellowed out as he’s gotten older but he was a diva in the 90’s

I met the big fella a couple of times as a kid in the 90s and he was always super nice to me. Always signed my stuff and took pictures! He was a douche to the media and I don't blame him!

Yup. Same here. He visited my elementary school PS 100 in South Ozone Park Queens in 1995 my 5th grade year. He was awesome the speech he gave us about chasing our dreams no matter the environment we're in and the importance of writing our goals down and to always focus on education before sports his words 26 years later I still remember.

To call him #33 a diva and a douche when he played with heart, backed down from no 7 foot man and had a 7 gamevWAR vs Hakeem in 94 one of the greatest Center Finals matchups ever?

10 years of 1990s playoff basketball vs Chicago/Miami/Indy? Never missed the playoffs in the 1990s?

And these are the words I'm reading from Phil? Almost speechless. Never heard a Knicks fan hate Ewing thank God message boards weren't around for me as a kid Ewing was my basketball NYC hero and legend today.

Such a douche that tears came to Shaq when talking about Ewing. His coach Georgetown Thompson adored Ewing.

I'm still waiting for Phil's top 1-15 Favorite Knicks (in order) here in 2021. Rather than fill in the blanks he rather trash Pat.

I bartended in the early 90s at a regular party the Knicks and Nets would attend. Anthony Mason and Charles Oakley (up until then my favorite player) were complete arrogant jerks. Or douches if you will. Kenny Anderson was even worse. Patrick Ewing…always a gentleman. He would be my #2 Knick after Bernard King, in terms of Knicks I saw play.

Hey all I have are my own experiences and the experiences other people I know have had with Ewing. No one had anything good to say about the guy though even worse could be said for Jordan. I know people in the Army who knew Jordan through his brother and I’ve also met others who interacted with him they all said he’s a jerk

It was like a club scene so mostly we were just busy as hell which is why guys like Oakley and Mason thought they were too important to wait a minute for a drink and made scenes. I do remember one of the kids in Kris Kross tipping me a C note after giving him a coke!

Apologies as I'm not a fan of countdown type lists. My favorite Knick of All-Time was Bernard. I don't really have any villians and I want all these guys to succeed. Three guys on current roster I focus on the most are RJ, IQ and Obi. Probably most has to do with following their progression and pitfalls.
