I disagree.
And so does...
HOF Basketball Players:

1985: Karl Malone (13th).
1985: Joe Dumars (18th).
1986: Dennis Rodman (27th).

Etc. Etc.
Enough of this ranking losing mentality horse crap.
And Steph Curry was picked 7th and we were left with Jordan Hill.
And yes- the above picks are exactly what we should be hoping for- I am somewhat confident that our FO can find really good talent later in the draft. And that is my point- we can’t win 1 extra game just because by golly, and pick 13th and have the player our FO wants go 12th or 11th.
In a perfect world, we end up 8th and that slot wins us #1.
I don’t understand how you can look at this roster and think- let’s get to the play offs.
Have we not seen that Randle is not Batman? That RJ is not even Robin?
And yet we want to be the perennial 1st round massacre exit of a play off team? Good enough to scrap it’s way in, but not good enough to do anything but embarrass itself.
And listen, I don’t think we’re good enough this year to even get to the play in position.
I’m not telling Thibs to lose games, though down the stretch I might encourage a different roster strategy.
I’m telling the FO that you aren’t as close as you might think, and do not trade for Lillard or anyone like that. If you have a chance to sell a piece for draft picks or youth, do so.
