This is a tough game to call - the Wolves are awesome but being a fan of NY you cant count them out. At least they were competitive last season with the Wolves. It is a true test of how well this team has come together. My prediction is at the end of the night Knicks fans will see just how much further the team needs to improve.

I think the Knicks have gotta pound them inside with Timmy and Sweetney. They don't have anyone on the club to check Timmy. Timmy has got to go off.

As far as Sweets....They gotta make KG work on defense. I could see them sending Sweetney at KG. Sweets has that nack to get to the line so maybe that works.....Anyway you sort of have to deal with what KG is gonna do to you.....he destroys everyone.

Marbs is Marbs and Craw is Craw and KT is KT........Ariza could be sent out to annoy Wally and counter his energy. Nazr and Baker just have to finish their plays inside and throw their bodies around inside.

#1 they can't let Kandi have a good game.
#2 They gotta get up on Wally and not let him get going. Wally is all emotion so they can't let him get good looks.
#3 Take it to them and make Cassell work on defense. They gotta win the game and take the chance that Sam I am can pull a shot out his arse like he always does.
#4 By all means don't let any of that bench of theirs beat them. I'm talking about Hoiberg, and Hassell....

If Spree and Eddie Griffin is out as expected this should be a very winnable game.

Go Knicks.......Attack these dudes!!!

I do believe we can win this game.

Aparty from garnett, they're not so strong at every position. our bench will hurt them a lot.

WE CAN WIN THIS GAME ! GO KNICKS !

matchup wise, it's very tough for sweets. who does he guard, KG or kandiman? then on the offense, who guards him? but we do need to establish some sort of post presence early otherwise we'll have to rely on our shotjocks to stay hot.

personally, i agree with enyspree. force feed that ball to tim in the blocks. but for some reason, it's hard for me to see tim taking advantage of spree.

getting off to a quick start could propel us to good things this season so beating minny would be great. i'm not holding my breath tho.

If we play solid defense we will win this game out right, if our offense fails, they'll be still begging for allans return.

Getting to the foul line is a must

I have a ton of hw so I won't be able to catch the game tonight (but I will be taping it). I'll probably get up tomorrow really early to watch the game before school

I also agree Tim and Sweetney are the keys to winning. But it is just as important for Marbury and Crawford to successfully penetrate and hit the open shots. We will win most games if they can do this night in and night out, but this is the Knicks.... one of the leagues most inconsistant teams. Go New York Go New York Go!!!!!!

By the way.... who remembers that John Starks song Basketball Jones?

The time for the real deal is NOW! We've been waiting all offseason for this one!

I think Jamal is gonna come out BIG in his first (real) NBA game as a Knick.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- A pair of teams with high hopes meet Wednesday at the Target Center when the Minnesota Timberwolves host the New York Knicks in the season opener for both teams.

A year after earning the top seed in the Western Conference playoffs, the Timberwolves have their sights set on another division crown and a longer run in the postseason.

While Kevin Garnett, the reigning Most Valuable Player, is primed for another strong year, a pair of players for Minnesota enter the season on a sour note. Both unhappy about not receiving contract extensions before the season, point guard Sam Cassell and swingman Latrell Sprewell have become a distraction.

Cassell missed a few practices and Sprewell, who spent five years with the Knicks, sat out an exhibition game and asked for a trade if a new deal was not reached by the opener.

That puts immense pressure on Timberwolves coach Flip Saunders, who needs to placate Cassell and Sprewell after finishing two wins shy of the NBA Finals last year. Saunders has a 7-1 record in season openers.

Minnesota has won five of its last six meetings with New York after dropping 18 of its first 23 since entering the league in 1989.

The Knicks finished the preseason with a 5-3 mark, their first winning exhibition record since 2000.

Shooting guard Allan Houston begins the season on the injured list with a sore left knee, but former Timberwolves point guard Stephon Marbury is ready for his first full season with New York, which made the playoffs last season after a two-year layoff.

The Knicks acquired guard Jamal Crawford from Chicago in the offseason. He will step in at shooting guard in Houston's absence.

Minnesota has won its last four openers while the Knicks have dropped two straight.

Lol, trust me if I could put it off until tomorrow, I definitely would. My teachers are being a pain and I have a good amount due tomorrow along with a few tests so unfortunately, I'm going to have to do the hw instead. Hopefully, I'll be done in time to catch the end though.
