Maybe we can consolidate the trade ideas for the upcoming offseasn. Maybe free agent signings on another post.

Is it possible if we cull the roster the Pacers and snag Myles Turner and Malcom Brogdon in a trade while bringing back Mcdermott. Then signing Obre then sign some of our free agents back. What can this starting 5 do?

Myles Turner
Randle
Obre
RJ
Brogdon

Can this 5 have a good balance of offense and defense? Will they have enough 3pt shooting?

What does a trade involving Turner and Bogdon look like? The knicks give up:

Mitch, knox, obi, Frank and 3-4 1st rounders?

What will the bench look like?

DRose, IQ, Mcdermott, Luca, Burks, Noel, Rookies?

Will the cap numbers add up? Will this team be better than this year's?

Knicks would have to give up Barrett in any trade you are getting both brogdon and Turner.

Looking at the Knicks payroll, it's really amazing how for maybe the first time ever everyone on the roster is not getting paid more than they are worth.
The one caveat, and KICK IN THE BALLS, is that Joakin Noah, is still the FOURTH highest paid Knick. That bloody Bastard burnout!

It's more embarrassing that #5 is Frank?

That's just due to the rookie scale. I'd say that's incredible more than embarrassing. Except in so far as we picked him with the 8th pick. Basically, no one aside from Julius is getting paid more than a rookie!

Knicks got incredible performance to cost ratios across the board this year. In that regard, this past season was a tremendous success in terms of resource management/cap management. I don't like the Obi Toppin pick, but he's not going to bust the cap on his own, at least right now.

I don't think Frank N at #5 is horrible consider the entire team and the entire season. I don't think Frank N earned any of that money this year but rookie contracts are two way shackles.

Put it this way, the two teams among the top last year, as such, were Dallas and Miami. Both teams regressed this season. No one wants to hear it, but there's a good chance the Knicks will face some regression next season. But that's a bit later, at least for now, fans here can still enjoy what was done this year.

Sign and trade for Lonzo, trade for Kemba and the Celtics 1st round pick if that doesn’t happen

Resign Burks and/Bullock - whoever agrees to a one year deal

Lock up Mitch

I've said the same thing- that we caught lightening in a bottle, and I can see us taking a step back next year unless we make some smart moves or get lucky.

If we come back next year with Elf/Rose platoon at PG again yes absolutely we take a significant step back

We might be moving back not because we did not step forward, but because we took a huge leap this year and even with few improvements other teams will move forward or return to form.
Anyone thing ATL won’t be better full seaason next year?
Miami get their shyt together internally?
Bulls, Indy, and Charlotte? One steps up?
Boston perhaps retweek things?

I can see it. Not to be hating, just not ignorant to the world around us.
I say always “Knick take care of its business and it all sorts itself out”. It did this. And we have a foundation to build on. Not results to duplicate.

I think Nunn is pretty interesting because he can spot up shoot from deep which works well with Randle and RJ. Shooting is the biggest need.

Oubre is not a winner. He’s Beasley in a SF body.

Now is not the time to add big contract roll players. They need to look at undervalued player like Bogdonavic. There is no reason he gets 18MM and Hayward got 30MM. He was there for the taking last offseason and we let ATL get him.

Just stay the course, hit the picks and work on improving RJ, Mitch, IQ and Obi.

we didn't have to pick up his 6 mill team option.

Between him and NOAH that's like 13 mill for absolutely nothing

Feel like having a passing PG who can orchestrate the PnR and adding a slasher who can consistently make shots at the rim are as equally or more important additions to the team.

Knicks have shooters.

There's a lot of talk about Josh Hart right now. He's a glue guy who is a fan of Thibs and vice versa, and an east coast product with CAA ties. I can see him as being a younger, slight upgrade over Bullock even though he's not the shooter. Bullock retained off the bench. The PG situation will come down to opportunity and cost. I can see Lowry or a trade for Brogdon on the higher end, and Graham or Reggie Jackson on the lower end.

C Robinson/ Gibson
PF Randle/ Toppin
SF Hart/ Bullock
SG Barrett/ Quickley
PG Lowry/ Rose
Plus 2-3 rookies

Something like that

Yeah, he's flown under the radar with all the Lonzo talk. Would $12M be enough? He's restrictioned, so it would have to be enough to make the NOP flinch.

Always... always remember: Less is less. More is more. More is better and twice as much is good too. Not enough is bad, and too much is never enough except when it's just about right. - The Tick
