They have much more pure talent. They have high draft picks in their young prime— a team that will also improve in years to come. They’re also very tall and have a great young pg. only reason they weren’t higher was poor coaching to start year. The hawks are simply better. We can win with determination but we’re not better

I mean they are the type of team we beat all year. But a year we had Julius Randle making shots and making passes. Our team only turned it around this year because he was good. Ultimately if he plays like that I think we best them, but it's a moot point because he has been completely eliminated in this series.

Exactly - they have the best perimeter player, the t interior player, and everyone else can shoot

Last game and this one we lost the lead with Young on the bench. Of course we’re going to lose like that

This is a disruptive eye opening loss. My personal thoughts about this team is changing. Our management has a lot to think over. I’m not sure about resigning so many older players.

I hear you on this. I still think continuity is super important but I think even if we make it out of this series we are getting a reality check on how good some of our guys are.

Knicks should trade Julius and blow this up at this point.

I am glad you are waking up to this. Bullock, Burks, Noel are decent role players off the bench but not guys you commit to long contracts. Even Rose too.

I'm also wondering why. Lots of people suggesting this in GT and it seems silly. Julius just went from being the worst player on a bad team to top 20 in just one season. He's never been to the playoffs before so its reasonable that he isn't playing his best.

It's gonna bite even harder when GSW gets Cade Cunningham with the first pick This FA is underwhelming and I don't see many other realistic avenues to improve.

Do they still get to be in the lottery even if they were in the play-in?

Why?

1. His trade value right now is at its highest it will ever be

2. Obi would start at PF, develop and play very well

3. It would help us avoid returning to cap hell aa he’s a free agent after next year

Yeah, they keep their pick, plus the one they got from Minnesota.

we over achieved in the regular season. We didn't deserve to be in the play offs, not with what we are showing. Certainly not the 4 seed.

Watching games, I see a vast difference in the level of talent we have, and what the better teams have.

Fools gold is what we had this year.

We're not one part away, and why many of us were hoping for a high lottery pick this year.

Atlanta got Trae Young, we got Kevin Knox who might be out of the league next year.

who exactly are we building our franchise with? RJ and a bunch of role players?

Obi showed nothing this year - unless not belonging in the league is something.

Frank is not going to be retained.

And then we have a bunch of role players that all exceeded expectations, and will probably not put up similar numbers again, especially if we resign them like some want.

So - next year we've got Randle, RJ, IQ, D Rose (8000 years old) and a half dozen Jerome James's.

Give them credit but series isn't over yet we will see. Hawks cheap organization to they will have to offer both young and collins over 100 milllion dollars extension. If the knicks loss this series i am happy we going in the right direction to the playoffs instead of stupid tanking like some fans want not on this message board.

The losses certainly hurt. That said, the difference between us listing and winning could be as simple as adding one or two players. I’m still pretty excited for this team. More exciting is what this coaching staff was able to accomplish in one year. Don’t knock Randle cause teams swarm Randle. This is why guys like Lebron want super friends on their team - so it’s hurts more to swarm him.

Don’t blow it up. Build more.

A lot of belly aching chicken littles. Guys Atlanta is hot right now. We’re not. That can change

Trading Randle isn’t “blowing it up” it’s a smart personnel move we would be selling high and the roster is still largely in tact

I am down for trading Randle also. I never liked ISO Melo and I like ISO Randle even less. I hated his low percentage shots but he made them all season so who was I to complain. Now when teams play hard we see just how low of a percentage those shots really are. Building a team around Randle will just lead to good regular seasons and early playoff exits.
