HE's a valuable piece i wanted to trade earlier in the yr because we had mitch. I definitely question his offensive side because we were so inept on offense, but he so good defensively that he you can overlook his offense sometimes.

He really needs to make the "All NBA DEFENSE TEAM" this season..

I would put him slightly below TYSON CHANDLER at this point

Seems to me that in the past 10+ games the fast passing to Noel where he always bobbles has been reduced; maybe the team made an adjustment, maybe it's just coincidence

Noel makes up 56% of our center budget - he'd better perform!
Noel: $5m
Gibson: $2.3m
Robinson: $1.6m

The Knicks are investing only $9m on centers across 3 very productive players:

Noel has been an amazing value. In retrospect, he was a brilliant signing - it couldn't have worked out better for the Knicks and Noel. He mitigates the loss of Mitch quite well, and Noel gets a chance to showcase his skills potentially for a bigger contract next year (with us or someone else). Win-win.

I've been of the perception that he's physically fragile/injury prone, and that's the primary reason why he hasn't "owned" a big contract. I wonder if his prior teams have limited his floor time to avoid breaking him.

There was a lot of talk about Knicks failure in free agency since trading KP. Well besides Randle (and Burks and Bullock and yes even Elfrid) how about this guy? One of our "core" pieces goes down in Mitch and Nerlens comes in and we don't miss a beat. Definitely one of "The Big 15."

He's been so good. I hope we can keep him long-term.

A good question to start asking is are we better with Noel, instead of, Mitchell?

Noel is going to demand a pay raise this off season and Mitchell, still wearing that "potential" tag, will definitely be getting more money when the time comes. Knicks won't be able to afford both, so which one should the Knicks invest in?

I hope Noel comes back for 1 year and we can push that decision for another year. It's a tough one. Hopefully it's not an either-or thing and they can co-exist as our centers. But Noel may have starting opportunities elsewhere next year so decisions will have to be made.

I think anytime you are talking about keeping guys under $10mm, you have to balance that with teams likely to offer an MLE contract. With more and more teams locking up their stars (and exceeding the cap to do so), I fear that many of our players will get cherry picked as they outperform their contracts. It’s the issue with 1 year deals.

I certainly appreciate Noel and hope he re-signs.

You know I gonna spin wit it

Don't have the stats to back it up but I've heard many mention that Mitch is just better in the middle, offensive players just fear him more. I don't see Noel as a starting type on a playoff team - or for a full season - and Mitch certainly has his shooting deficiencies.

Knicks FO has a lot of decisions to make. Hope both guys are back next year.

I would love to see Noel back next season. He is not a long-term starter due to his bad hands and limited offense, but is a great backup center. If we can resign him for $5-$7 mill a year (essentially the MLE), it would be good deal for us.

no way, his numbers are not much better than his last few season, this is who he is, in an offensive era of basketball, he's not going to be demanding much more than he's getting now.

Knicks may have to eventually decide between Mitch and Noel, and then again between Bullock and Burks. Until the knicks feel like they have the top end talent they need, a lot of these role players will be let go and replaced. I really only see Randle, Barrett, and Quickley being core guys that the front office is committed to, and the rest will stay or leave depending on what they are willing to resign for and demand from other teams. Noel, Bullock, Burks, and Rose are all tough choices this offseason. All of them have been so important to different wins this season. Rose is most likely to come back on a discount, the rest who knows.

I kind of soured on Mitchell Robinson. Has not improved his game since coming to the league ( staying out of foul trouble is great, but that's not even a skill, that's something all NBA players have)

Also he is hurt a lot. If this is all that Mitch is gonna be then that's not too hard to replace

Can we still trade Mitch? We keep Noel and draft a back up

No way can we afford both

How much would you pay mitch who will have miss 60% of the regular season, and has done nothing special prior to that to earn some big pay day..can't hit FT, no offense game..like how much you plan on paying for that product

Same with Noel, they are limited players that have a solid role on a defense team..it's not like their Double double machines

Neither of them are 1st or 2nd tier type players that can fit in any system

Is it any coincidence mitch, Noel, and Taj all are doing great? I’m confident if Noel does not want to be here we can find a new guy that fits the role. Norlens is in the right place with the right coach.
Fans: “We got something good, lets never let it go!!!” Might be true, but there might be even greater opportunities in the future.
Its a tough business.
Love Noels interview the other night after the game. Spot on answers with clarity and enthussiasm. I hate the mitch got hurt and I’m on record at seasons start we should look at trading him with that insane contact that could have returned very well.
Obvious no such deal was tempting enough for Leon and Co. to bit on. We might be a bit more on the mitch train that others.
Noel needs some love
