Yeah. We've been a bad 3rd quarter team for years b4 thibs came here. If we gonna blame thibs for this 1 lost....then we have to give thibs credit for 20 plus wins. When u think of it that way, it's kinda silly to fault thibs.
To me, thibs is a players coach. I didnt realize that until he came here. Now I see why players like playing for him. He doesn't waiver. Hes consistent.....sometimes to a fault.
But with that style, every player understands their role, the time they have in the game....when they sub in the game. Everything is structured...which is a good environment for developing young players. Sometimes we might lose games...but as you see, overall we are a better team because of this structure and consistency....compared to last year.
We need to figure out this zone defense... and thibs may have to adjust his starting lineup....in preparation for zone defense. Payton, RJ, Noel and not shooters. Randle is a post player who can shoot. But he's not a shooter. Bullock is the only shooter in the starting 5, and he's VERY inconsistent. If he's not hitting, it puts pressure on the other non shooters....when he's hitting, we win most games....
I thought we played better as a team when Rose was the starter....and Payton/ quickley come off the bench. Improves our starting unit and gives quickley the green light in the 2nd unit. Allows Payton to play his game. And quickley/Burks will help open the floor doe Payton in that 2nd unit.
