Im so sad seeing Mitch go down. My initial reaction was to go call Drummond right away but on second thought that will do more harm than good. What are the knicks options out there? Should they go after Gorgiu Dieng, John Henson? Or see if Hassan Whiteside will be available. Im leaning towards Dieng but there as an incident with the T'wolves where he butt heads with Thibs on playing time.

For point guard option, what about Jeff Teague? Is there a chance the knicks wave Payton and just sign Teague the rest of the year? Can Avery Bradley play point?

Drummond will be very tempting, but dieng brings something different to the table, he can shoot 3s. Outside of Randle we don't have a big that can shoot 3s. As I expect Toppin not to see any burn if we make the playoffs

Dieng would work for a rental productive big body

I’m sure there is a list of 3-5 bigs we should be looking into.

Payton won’t be the reason we make the playoffs or don’t. He is just inefficiently doing his job at a high level lol.

A forward or center or 3pt marksman are our needs Down the stretch.

More about Payton. A lot of flaws there. But don’t discredit his defense, ability to get down hill and add 10-14 points to the game. if he were playing in that nets game his production could have put us over the top.

He is a professional backup pg in the nba

If you were to compare him to ntlikina he is a million miles ahead of him.

When ntlikina job is threatened I haven’t seen him go for 25 points ever. But I’ve seen Payton protect his job when he has to

Toppin outside today did not score in numerous games. He did not get any 2nd half burn vs. The bench players of the bucks, you expect him to be in the rotation in the playoffs?

Unless it’s drummond anyone the Knicks pick up will be a third string. Noel and taj is getting in first. They already know the system.

Will he get more PT there or something?

Strange to not reunite with a coach and players that you already played for/with.

Terrible timing. Mitch lost for a long time and many options are already picking new places. We really need someone. We are barely holding on to a playoff berth and are really thin at C with Robinson out.

Yeah, for the time being Noel and Taj and have someone as depth. I don't see the urgency to overpay some over the hill guy who might mess with team chemistry.

Not a conspiracy guy, but I believe the NBA honchos are well invested in a Lakers/Nets final. If I were a conspiracy guy, I might think they would instruct refs to bear that in mind during games and to strongly influence teams to buy out certain players and then direct them to said Lakers or Nets. Okay maybe I'm a conspiracy guy.

I don’t think a center is really going to be the reason we don’t make the playoffs. We have enough to make it. If we don’t our guys just didn’t play well or we were completely outclassed most nights.

Yeah and the teams around us made improvements too. Chicago, Atlanta and Boston went got better. Miami is steadily improving. Drummond doesn't improve the defense or offense. He's like a vanity plate. However, the Knicks do need a body. What's Skal Labissier up to? Can we re-sign Omari "the round mamba" Spellman? Maybe he's using this time to get in shape?

Haha now your being realistic

Let’s get a 6-10 6-11 body and go to war. Let’s go!

Believe in our defense

Believe in Randle iq burks bullock rj rose to perform at their best.

If we lose we were completely outclassed and I don’t believe drummond would have improved the outcome.

If our team and main guys play to the best of their ability we will be fine

Our schedule is tough. We need to win one lose one .400.450. Ball to make it the rest of the way

I’m not sure about Chicago- their defense is going to be horrific with Vucevic, LaVine and Markkanen in the starting lineup

One thing I know for sure. In the remaining games any team who are basement dwellers we need to Stomp them. We have to play the weakest teams the rest of the way like it’s game 7 of the finals and get the w
