Yeah, lets just trade all of our guards because Burks at PG was so impressive.

For who? Another 2023 second rounder?

I mean that 2023/24 class supposed to loaded lol but I doubt we get that any way. We just need Rivers,Rose, and Payton to return ASAP because right now he's pissing away his career.

Naw, Frank is doing enough sucking for the entire Tri-State. I'm sure he'll pick it up. If not, I'm sure he'll kill it in France.

He has no trade value at this point. Might as well just hold him. I’d still bring him back for the minimum next year if no one else makes a legit play for him.

This is Frank's opportunity and he is FAILING.

When you shoot while pretty much wide open and either barely hit rim or miss everything it's just a slap in the face. When you want to be a PG and make a pass that shouldn't even be contemplated when a defender is licking his lips waiting to intercept and almost does, Thibs notices.

Frank man, you are failing us all

Its about time everyone started coming around.lol

Unfortunately it's three years to late. At this point, unless he's trade fodder for something bigger, I doubt he will fetch anything alone.

Can't wait for the Trade Knox thread (another player we held on for too long).

.....Let's not make the same mistake with Obi

I think we are failing him. Hes not a PG...hes a Swiss army knife.....3 and D guard/sf bench player. If everybody was healthy he wouldn't even get any mins. But he hasn't complained about. I think they trying to up his value as well...and probably shot themselves in the foot looking at his offensive play. 🤔

when he was drafted, he had both the biggest % chance to be an all star, and the biggest % chance to be a total wash out flop.

I mean, it's really tough to watch him. He had a couple 'great' games, then bam.

He may need a change of scenery. But I kinda agree at this point, he is a bust, not waiting to bust out.

Fans prerogative to act emotionally. If you take the same parameters and offer him on trade with the recent shooting issue you think there is much of a market?
But, can anything be said that the minutes he played his defense DID matter and the TEAM did well?
NO doubt he needs to hit some shots and I am baffled at how well he was doing, then moment he gets the start it fell off the cliff.
But there is no comeback without his defense and last night he played well off the ball.
It was a tough loss and tough to watch.

Boils down to this: If that shot can’t be fixed then he can’t sustain in the NBA. His defense and ball movement is that good but at some point the shot has to fall. the issue of value is moot if another measure does not fancy his potential. Its not like a secret we trade him and other teams don’t know his shot is off.
If Mr impressionable Briggs the morning after is calling for him then its a bit impulsive fan reaction. Frustration is valid. What to do? I don’t know. He is not our starter, nor is IQ and the air balls was a new low. Was he playing thru a bangled up hand because we sort?
The defense was good. The passes were very good. Turnovers were not great timing but that happens. WE used Burks as PG and that was not great. I like Alec but this was to be DRoses minutes.
As for Frank? Is it the “Yips”? Thats as more than a lack of confidence, that was more debilitating.

If I'm a team like Orlando or Washington - hugely over the cap and in last place- then I would absolutely salivate over the prospect of modest cap relief and a chance to get our young, struggling players like Knox, Frank & Obi & a potential first round pick.

And if I am the Knicks, I have to look at trading some of these young players that aren't able to contribute and maybe need a change of scenery to determine whether they have a future in the league for an established NBA player.

lol...been telling ya'll this guy was a waist of playing time for 3 yrs

we lose by 3 points in the last 2 games, and he scores zero..shooting air ball mid range shots, never taking it to the hole, that kid is scared to death of contact.

And what do we get in return? Change of scenery? LIke a different coaching scenario? He has had plenty. Washington or Orlando are struggling which is not exactly a place to put frank back into. I can see more a SAS or Miami, perhaps even Indiana. Places that are culturally engrained and not filled with new players to get used to. I can very much see him in Miami.
What cap relief players do the want to shed that they don’t see as part of their future that eats our cap some and has the upside? I’m not all “Pro frank” here. I see the issue but he is 3rd strong PG and 3rd as a wing. If we can’t fix that shot while he physically matures then he is done. While we project him wanting “a fresh start” the issue is he has had them with each new coach and regime that has been here. Kid passes the ball without hesitancy, fills the lane on defense, and on one can flat out defend. He gave us a lot the last two games. He gave us the opportunity and then he bricked which is what we are all upset about.
Thibs plays who gets you close. Damn shame.

Not making excuses for Frank but the dude seems mind ****ed to shoot or not to shoot. But to be fair he was a positive player when he was on the court. Curry didn’t give the Sixers the lead until he was off the court. Also with the shortage of PGs I have to think that Frank maybe hurt which isn’t to uncommon for him.

Its clear Frank is the Chuck Knoblauch of shooting. He has the yips. He goes through these extended confidence funks. Its been several years now. He's got athletic ability, work ethic and natural talent on the defensive end, but if he has the extended yips shooting, I don't know how he can play a role. He came back with confidence and then it faded again. Its a shame because you see the flashes that he might have a nice looking jumpshot, and then he starts with the airballs as if he never shot a basketball. I think its fair to say its not gonna happen here for him.
