We had the cap space to sign him
It wasn’t a destructive contest — we didn’t have to bet the farm— all we had to do is treat him nice abs pay him more than 12.5 mm$

What are we going to use cap space on? Are we si ply waiting to send 5 number 1 picks abs all of our players for another 32 year old falling on to his later part of career?

If Leon rose knows talent — why as one of 5 clubs w cap space to we not have Woods?

Signing Tom T. Who cares????? Any coach can do what he does with this squad.

Maybe quick is ok but he’s no star player.

Carmelo Anthony last night. 5 points 2 rebounds. More bricks
Christian woods. 31 points 13 rebounds 2 assists

The rockets had 8 guys and still only lost the game by a miracle shot?

Did anyone else watch it? ThT could’ve been our player — he’s a head case some say? So was Dennis Rodman 10x worse. So is kyrie there’s a lot of head case super stars he sure does sound normal to me

What sucks is we gotta watch another season of 20 point losses. Prob win just enough to get another 7 seed. Miss the top players again and bitch about it

We had a chance to get a higher pick last year but we won meaningless games. We’ve done this more than once

RIP Crushalot😞

one big game (it was a loss) and this guy is the new Anthony Randolph. How many of these threads are we gonna get this season?

Briggs... gonna spell it out. Nobody gives a phuck about Christian "Woods"

Really, we think Woods even if better would turn this team around?
We drafted OBI.
And, if you gonna post this impressionable crap at least not that the rockets are a better team with better players and put on the court one super star last night in Harden.

Last night two things happen. Rockets and Knicks lost games. For all Woods heroics the outcome was the same.
Cherry picking GM fan. Sorry Briggs, I don’t have the answers but I don’t pretend to.

He would not benefit in playing here especially with our guard play.

Briggs every time a player has a big game once in a blue moon you gush about him. I’m still laughing at your “Frank Kaminsky is the next Larry Bird” proclamation 😂

Woods would be irrelevant in the big schemes of things. That team is built around Wall and Harden in mind. Wood can play a role around them. Harden may be on his way out, but if there is a Rocket the Knicks should covet it is Harden. He is a player that immediately makes the Knicks competitive and puts some respect on the team in terms of opponents. Do the Knicks have the assets to trade for Harden? They probably do, but do not want to commit to a player that is likely to not want to come.

Just posted on the NBA thread. You made a good call on Woods. Reminds me of my saying "Even a jackass gets mistaken for a thoroughbred horse sometimes" *patpending. (How is Denzel Valentine doing?)

But gotta hand it to you Briggs, you got this one right. Woods is a good young player that we should have added.

Not about the guards. It’s about having the ability to bring a franchise type player in.

I comment on a lot of players because there is hundreds of drafted players. I talked about a lot of players this year— who was my top dog?

I remember when trae young was coming out I said straight out pick 1 — many people including those who wrote in this post said he was actual garbage. That’s not true at all.
And it’s not about me saying anything. I wrote another post saying other posters had it right w Vassell— they did. We should have Vassell and Woods. Instead we got bullock and Toppin—- that’s y we sck. The only guy who was the right guy was up and Barrett — otherwise we have done sht.

Briggs has been on Woods since like his rookie yr. Still was on him when he was a G leaguer. He can brag about this one. My only issue is that he can keep it in one thread. We don’t need 70 new ones each game he plays.

Don't think boasting you wanted to draft Trae Young over Doncic is anything to brag about!

Well done, you wanted to draft Nesmith 1st this year- he is tearing up the league. Congrats on also being so high on Wiseman- the player every draft board had going 1-3.

Maybe Wood didn't want to come here- maybe he wanted to go to Houston, ever considered that?

Geez Briggs, why don't you go out and marry the dude already hahaha He was a good get for his contract, but as Smackdog mentioned, we were rumored to have interest in him last season. Who's to say we didn't reach out and he just had more desirable offers. Also, there's no way you sign Wood and you're still stuck with Randle. Add the fact that Wood is clearly benefitting from the spacing provided by fat Harden and Houston's other three point shooters. Wood would still look as flawed here as Randle and the other jobbers we have here.
Always... always remember: Less is less. More is more. More is better and twice as much is good too. Not enough is bad, and too much is never enough except when it's just about right. - The Tick

Detroit acquired the #16 pick, Ariza, $4.6M cash, this wasn't a straight free agent SnT. $13.6M per.

Obi, Julius Randle already on the team.

Why does Woods go to the Knicks?

Knicks trying to build some sort of culture and Woods ain't that type of guy, not at this stage.

Wood: 5 seasons on his 6th team. Not including Gleague. Briggs loved this guy from the start. When was we supposed to grab this guy?
Ok, On a reasonable deal. Why? Head case? History of it? Draft was before FA. Th is guy was not a lock unless “Briggs wanting him” qualifies. SInce he is not accountable, I’m guessing Briggs was offering more money than he signed for? And when?

I also was a big advocate for the Knicks to take a chance on Woods last season - but it would have been a risk for sure. Houston has a better foundation/stability to take that risk - not sure the Knicks could of taken that risk. He reportedly is immature and while he's grown immensely as a player - not sure the Knicks locker room could make room for a player like him... think Thibs would probably have hated him!
