Thought he was a top 3 player with different compliments for Mitch Robinson. A guy who could handle the rock shoot it from deep etc. I like Toppin but not with Robinson— I like Toppin in an open style as a 5 man. We’re not going to do that—- and unless we move Robinson( which I would not) Ithink we took the wrong guy

I like Deni but he’s not as good a shooter as Obi.

Nope, I'm not convinced he'll be as good as people say he is- could end up not being able to hit FTs, shoot 3s, or be athletic enough. He's no sure fire hit

Stop it already. You got cold feet before the draft and your just a fan like the rest of us.
Of course your second guessing. Fans get to do this AFTeR THE FACT. Your not even a week in or a game played. You got him pigeon holder as Amare 2.0. He is a better shooter than Amare was!!!!
For all we know we trade Mitch tomorrow!!!!

Briggs with another Harlequin Bromance

At least lets wait for some 4 second youtube clips before calling Toppin a bust.

There were at least 4 guys I would of rather had than Toppin

Maybe. Personally, I wanted Deni. Just got to put our trust in Walt.

I am not sold on Deni....still have visions Dragan Bender....

We have the right coach to build Obi’s defense...his offense will hit the ground running

i am glad we passed.

We'll see but the hype about Deni seemed to be well...hype.

Toppin is a much better shooter than Deni.

Just what i was going to say. There's one of these "athletic" Euro busts in every draft.

Bender's game is different, it seems to me

take a look at the so-called Deni highlights. With a little AI film editing those are the same types of plays Mario had pre-draft. Didn't translate to NBA

And Mario could at least hit FTs

Deep inside i know Scott Perry wanted to draft Deni to show everyone how smart he is/was....

This is pointless because the answer will probably come so many years into the future and by then we will have more things to worry about.

Truth is that every player in the draft has promise, but what we got in Toppin hardly happens:

-Top talent the team was ready to make moves for falls to your pick.
-Hometown kid who grew up your team’s fan is selected and wanted.
-Player that brings flexibility with his game as he is a threat inside and also outside.
-Great story with work ethic and character, usually recipe for a good talent to turn into something special.

I really think we were fortunate to get Toppin and will count on him as one of our main future stars with RJ and possibly our first pick in next year’s draft.

I'm happy with Obi, hoping he will play great for us
Looking back will look like a miss many times, last few drafts we skipped great players such as Donovan and Bam in 2017 , Bridges and SGA in 2018 ...

I think Toppin at the 5 position would make him a better player. Playing two 7 footers is ok by me— but two lob threats will be ez to guard.

I like Avdija but his ceiling is a slightly better Gallinari

He won't be a Eurobust. A Eurobust is Pavel Podkolzin or Andrea Bargnani - those guys I could see from a mile away were going to bust

I liked Deni too but it is hard to tell with Euro players. If it were me, I would have taken Deni, Vassell, or Haliburton instead of Obi. Obi’s defense worries me greatly. He just looked too bad to ever believe he is going to be a competent defender. I hope I am wrong about that but I guess time will tell.
