So in his latest podcasts, Hahn is hinting that the Knicks will largely be standing still with the distinct possibility that they use their cap space to take on a stinker contract or two to leverage this situational advantage they hold this mid-season.

---------------------

Horford's name is most often floated in such scenarios. Some include the trading of MRob.

------------------------

Macri has an interesting rumor, "Who says no to Reggie Bullock, 27 and the worse of next year's Charlotte/Detroit second-rounders for Prince, 19, and Brooklyn's 2021 first-rounder?"

Not me.

I doubt that knicks and nets will do any trades in the future especially right now.

Big pass on Derozan. He shot 25% from 3 last season AS A SHOOTING GUARD. All he does now is slash. There’s a reason why the spurs are desperate to get rid of him he kills your spacing on offense

There is a bigger picture here your not seeing and I can’t fully paint for you. The idea is taking on a contract to improve short term but leverage by being paid to take it.
I thought of Derozen and he’d immediately be our best player. A sharp upgrade from Morris and perhaps it just costs us Randle and in return we get back another asset or pick.
Bullock contract for who he is was a good long term play by the knicks. Not a home run.
Mrob contract also is a huge asset. We all love him but what can be extracted in return.
The knicks path is a bit abstract. The aggregate of making smart deals do add up and put us in a better position going forward.
What if we think Wiseman is the shyt? Is the 8th and Mrob worth it? You might not think he is all that, but if knicks do then think of what that does for Minny to put Mrob up with KAT and they get a good player at the 8? Mrob is very valuable while under this deal. That does not mean I DON”T like him, nor the knicks but its a unique look.

Personally I don’t know if Wiseman is all that. I just use this as one example.
Its entirely possible that we got a deal binge draft day and our heads spin. Some you’ll like, some you won’t understand, some you’ll hate.

Before you throw up in it let me use it to hide my tears

Paper Bag, ehh? I think a larger container would be more fitting. How about we bring a dumpster in front of MSG and take turns puking in it.

One has to consider what is the return before upchucking. The "crapy Contract" is likely not in itself the end result. It might come with a consideration for taking the contract.

A sanitized dumpster with a month's worth of cleaning services? Some dirt that can be used to blackmail Dolan into selling the team? A first-rounder? I'd settle for the first-rounder, but the endgame should be the blackmail material.

I'd still vomit up my spleen if we have to give up MitchRob for any "crapy" contract, no matter how many first round picks we get. It's a new FO, but this is the Knicks. We screw the pooch more than regularly on draft picks.

MitchRob and RJ should be untouchable, IMHO. Unless you're talking about some insane trade that would NEVER pass the mirror test.

Now, this is the reason why you don't trade all your assets for the first 30 year old All-Star whose name is featured in a Tweet. Don't know if this rumor is true or if we even have enough assets to pry him away. But this is the type of talent you put your chips on the table for.

Yeah, Devin Booker is who I would chase if he is really on the table. Now for him, I would be willing to give up some first round picks but they would have to have at least top-3 protection.

Just the fact that I’m hearing Mitch’s name being mentioned in trade rumors scares me
