The teams that will not draft lamelo ball are the warriors, hawks, hornets ,kings ,spurs, wizards, and blazers. The reason why the warriors won't draft lamelo ball is because they already have curry, and klay thompson. The warriors coach steve kerr doesn't like lavar ball drama. The hawks won't draft lamelo ball because they have trey young and it would be a bad fit. The reason why the hornets won't draft lamelo ball because they already have point guards plus they need a center badly . The other reason why the hornets won't draft lamelo ball because of michael jordan owns the hornets and doesn't like lavar ball. The kings won't draft lamelo ball because they already have a point guard in dearron foxx plus luc walton coaches the kings and doesn't have good relationship with lavar ball. The spurs won't draft lamelo ball because they have point guards on there roster murray ,white plus they need a small forward . The other reason spurs won't draft lamelo ball because popvich isn't going to deal with lavar drama .The wizards won't draft lamelo ball because they already have john wall making lot of money unless wall is amnestied. The reason why the blazers won't draft lamelo ball is because there backcourt signed long term contracts cj mcclum and damian lillard.

Teams do not think like that..I can see Spurs, CHA, POR, WIZ...all drafting him and figuring it out later

I extremely doubt michael jordan or greg popvich are going deal with lavar ball drama the kid will fall. Popvich didn't want deal with kawhi leonard uncle dennis drama.

I have heard a few draft guys say on podcasts that they think Lamelo would be a good fit in Golden State. If a team thinks Lamelo is the most talented guy I think they take him. He is #1 on a lot of mocks. The Knicks will need a top 3 pick if they want to draft him. He could go 1.

We've seen that the Warriors are willing to take on the best asset and figure it out later. They did it with D. Russell and they're doing it with Wiggins. I can also see them trading the pick too.

I absolutely want to avoid this player. He’s exactly what the Knicks Do not need. While I respect some of his truly gifted old school skills with his size— he is not the efficient type of basketball player that wins. What stands out in champions? Efficiency. We don’t need a new guy to shoot 38%. We as a team don’t need Lavar Ball making noise and causing distraction. We need to acquire players that can be efficient as a unit. I don’t think ball is that guy. I think he’s more of a flashy player that can look good great but his teams will lose.

I am more worried about whether we can trade for Lamelo Ball, because unless we move up to 1 or 2, it is doubtful he will be there when we draft. If we can stay at no lower than 6, we have the assets to put together a trade for him and as long as it is not ridiculous, the Knicks should move up. Think about if we had pushed to move up that one spot that we missed out on Curry (he was drafted 7th i believe and we had the 8th pick). I don't want a repeat of that. Hopefully, two teams that do not need a PG move up to first and second and are willing to trade. I agree that Atlanta and the Kings will probably pass. They are happy with their current pgs, and they would likely look to fill other needs, but all the other teams you mentioned, I could see drafting Ball, because he is just that good and he could fit into a second ball handler/scorer type role for any team. I think the Lavar Ball drama is overhyped. Yeah, he is probably going to do some talking, but he has not derailed Lonzo's career, and he has calmed down from what he was doing earlier. Most teams will view it as only a minor annoyance.

I like LaMelo but he isn’t Zion and J can’t get too deep into trying to figure out how he gets on the Knicks. Especially when we don’t know the drafting order let alone if the season will be ended for a playoff format.

Right, everything will depend on where we pick. If we drop to 8 or 9, then I think it costs too much to move up for Ball, but if we stay at 6, I would think an offer of our 6th pick, the LA pick, our second round pick, and DSjr would at least be something another team would seriously consider. I know some may question including Smith, but in my view, whatever potential Smith might have, it does not look like he is going to reach it in NY, so we might as well trade him while he still has some value, but the Nuggets traded Mudiay in his 4th year to get something for him. This of course assumes the Knicks work Ball out and conclude that he is the real deal. I am not worried about his shot selection and percentages. I think both will improve with experience. His defense does concern me, but the more recent scouting reports I have read suggest that he can become a solid defender and given that his brother is a solid defender, I am willing to accept that he will improve in that area. His ballhandling and ability to create off the dribble is superior to anyone in this draft by a wide margin. He should instantly be our best PG, and he should open up the games of Mitchell, Randle, and RJ.

Teams could make a trade. Blazers could trade McCollum and then draft Ball. IM assuming he falls to them. Im glad you got Steve Kerr and jordan on your speed dial to tell you these things.
Same for Luke Walton.
Fox and Ball and trade Buddy? Not saying its viable.
Wizards could Amnisty Wall. But since they basically been paying him why not see what he got. They can amnisty him but the price is liek $131,000,000! While it won't go against the cap, thats still a damn lot of money.
If there is amnisty is there a window as to when it has to be used? If healthy thats one hell fo a back court. Wall is still young and basically would have had nearly two seasons to recover.
Not every team has a bottomless pit of money.

Kerr, Pop and Jordan are not on my speed dial So I can't tell you who likes ball, attitude for Lavar, or specific roster fit. We don't even know if Pop stays on for a rebuild or is that even a though. Whats missing is assumptions that teams will draft by need. Spurs can trade Murry for Small forward and draft Ball if they think thats the best player available to them and think the ceiling is higher for ball. I don't know. Some team draft by need, others by best player available.

As for the Lavar circus we don't know if it will be a redux from the Laker Lonzo era. We can assume Jordan won't put up with some things includiing being upstaged. At the same time if the kid has the talent then perhaps a path can be paved prior. Lavar not been the same after Lonzo trade to NOLA.

There is reason why lavar is not talking about lonzo anymore its because he is in small market team in new orleans its all about optics for lavar the bigger market via lA, NYC more lavar will talk, smaller the market talk less talk from lavar piston, cavs. Lets be real here kerr and jordan aren't going to deal with lavar ball they don't like dealing with unnecessary drama. If popvich is there coaching the spurs do you think he would draft lamelo ball he hates lavar ball drama the spurs had a chance to get lonzo in kawhi leonard trades in 2018 but declined to get his son because of drama. Lavar ball hates luke walton he thinks he is terrible coach with luc walton coaching his son lonzo with the lakers.

I think this is the best way to look at this situation. Ball comes with so many question marks. I really don’t know where I stand with drafting him??!! The more tape I watch the more concerned I become.

If I look at steph curry — a true championship piece/ compare and contrast — it’s two different players. One is a tight fundamentally sound player who excels at shooting— the other is a high risk flashy player who does not shoot well and has background noise. Listen he shot 25% on 3s in Australia — a number that is simply scary. He has dreadful form but he also likes to shoot it. There’s some nice things about him. He’s not a young Jason Kidd— young Jason was very fast— he doesn’t have the same speed and the league is different. I kind of realize that we will be picking 7-8 so with either wiseman or ball it’s not a likely scenario

Nesmith Hayes or Halliburton will be the reality based choices

I'm with you here. Isn't Ball just the new DSJr, with better passing? I want to see Hayes or Halliburton on this team.

The new new core: Randle, RJ, IQ. Maybe Mitch. Future pick. Future trade. Future FA.

If I’m picking 6-7-8 I’m already laser focused on Nesmith. If he’s not there I’ll take one of Halliburton Hayes Or Bay. But I’m all in on Aaron Nesmith below the top 3. I’m not drafting ball at any draft slot.

the one thing I guess I would argue for drafting Ball, is we looked pretty decent with the last really good pg we had who was Jason '40 year old' Kidd. I'm not comparing the two, but I am saying that have a floor general that can orchestrate but not shoot great is still better than not having a floor general.

Still - going into the draft, I'm taking BPA, hopefully someone with a great shot and decent defense at the 2/3 - and I'm going to hope I can sign VanVleet to a max deal to get the play maker we desperately need.

I worry about trading up. I don’t think just the clippers pick gets it done. The Knicks need to keep next year’s pick. My guess is it will be high lottery again.

I doubt the knicks tank again especially if they signed thibs as coach. Rj, Frank, Mitch new draft picks and knox can't tank all the time at some point they will have to show some progress of playoffs.

The Ny Knicks have never ever tanked. We just suck. You can dictate what the Knicks will be— maybe we suck again — I certainly hope not but it’s a rag tag mess.

If didn't have fizdale at the start season and put mike miller in charged before it was too late the knicks would probably be 7 or 8 seed in the east.

Teams that will not draft lamelo Ball if these teams win the draft lottery .
