Which Stars might become available this off season via trade because of the lower salary cap/ economic situation? Also what should the Knicks strategy be if Stars do become available? |

Add in other roster spots plus drafted players and they are stuffed. Does maybe increase the chances they'll trade they first pick this year (if it's number 1 it would add another $10mil+, if they trade down to 6th or lower I reduces that figure by half.) Sixers are majorly screwed also- over $147mil next season, and even in 3 seasons they're at over $130mil. Harris and Horford they'd probably want to move, but they're essentially untraceable (they were before this virus). Maybe they end up having to shift Embiid or Simmons for cap relief and cheaper younger players/high picks. Josh Richardson is more moveable at $10mil for 2 seasons. Nets payroll is also not good. OKC would probably like to get rid of CP3 or Adams (Adams will be expiring at $27mil, shouldn't be too difficult to shift) Blazers will probably want rid of Ariza's expiring $12mil Magic's salary is bad for next season (over $130mil), they'll be looking to shed either Gordon (2 years at $18mil), Fournier ($17mil), Ross (3 years $13.5mil per) or Aminu (2 years $9.5mil) |

The trade: The Warriors have acquired Andrew Wiggins, a 2021 first round draft pick (top 3 protected), and a 2021 second round draft pick from the Timberwolves in exchange for Jacob Evans III, D’Angelo Russell, and Omari Spellman. Given Russells big contract might they have done better post Covid and all that goes with it? I think your seeing Wiggins as the same player as he was in Minny. Pehraps GSW felt wiggins who is just 24 might fulfil part of his upside being in a less toxic environment than Minny PLUS the draft pick for next year on top of this years high lottery pick gives them the abilty to trade Wiggins plus those two picks for a high quality starter adding to a healthy Steph, Green and Clay? If they see Wiggins potential as Russell, then they basically got the same player and a nice 1st round pick for next year. I don't have an opinion on wiggins or why he has not flourished YET. |

If Twolves make the playoffs or are better next season (hey, crazy things can happen), that could end up being a mid first. It's going to greatly impact what the warriors can do going forward and could cost them a fortune depending on how the league finances are hit and managed. |

He really might become available because the Kings were reluctant to pay him last summer. They might want to get rid of his salary and might not demand too much if they could get a draft pick. The FO needs to carefully evaluate the market. If a small market team is looking to cut salary, there are going to be some opportunities to get a solid player for cheap. They just have to make wise decisions and not merely go name hunting for mediocre talent. Trust the Process

Not really a star, but will make enough screw up the cap. I think I'd rather have Bogdonavic if possible. Always... always remember: Less is less. More is more. More is better and twice as much is good too. Not enough is bad, and too much is never enough except when it's just about right.
