This is us staying around 6-8 in draft w wiseman and ball gonzo.
The more I look at comparisons the more I’m starting to like Lewis Jr
His speed and body control is made for nba. It’s close between 2-3 of them// not really a cold Anthony guy but I’m shading towards lewis.
Caveat is I’d like to pick Payton Pritchard at 27 if he’s there no matter what. I’m all into drafting two Pgs if we’re not top 3

What about Haliburton vs Hayes? You mentioned them in the subject header but not in your post- you're keeping us in suspense! I also like the look of Kira Lewis- ridiculous speed

I want shooters. If they can shoot then draft them.

Bertans (can play SF and PF) and Joe Harris (can play SG and SF) are free agents and buddy hield might be available in a trade, so I think Those could be good avenues fo adding shooters, rather than the draft. Christian wood also shot well.

I like Joe. Good UFA to have. However, I am a Gallo fan. I would like a reunion with him. Then we can recycle that "Coming home video" used for Melo.

I think we can get 3 excellent shooters out of this draft

Haliburton is a very good spot up shooter and is an excellent fit if the plan is give Barrett some playmaking responsibilities.

I want Barrett to be the number 1 option next season. No more of this Julius Randle crap.

From the video I’ve seen his shot mechanics aren’t great, I don’t see him getting his jumper off easily against NBA defenders, neither will he get to the rim like he did in college but he’s an excellent play maker / passer agreed.

Gallinari return would be awesome his game is so suited to the modern NBA. Would complement Mitch game also.

The question will be can he tweak his mechanics at the next level, hard to say he can't

Your really insistent on wiseman huh?! I understand and respect your reasoning man. Just feel he’s going to take time to be this ultra impactful monster people presume he is. To me he’s relatively unproven with decent competition. But undeniable physical gifts granted. I’ve started to warm to Ball but concerns being terrible jumper / poor defence and lack of lateral quickness. penny Hardaway he ain’t ( not yet anyway ). Haliburton and Hayes ummm, just give the edge to Hayes better perimeter threat. Lewis looks a real steal though.

I like Cole too, but see him more as a scoring guard when we have to prioritise playmaking?

My draft strategy would be PG and then a wing / another perimeter scoring threat. Edwards would be ideal ( my personal top pick ) but think Aaron Nesmith is really underrated pure movement shooter. His jumper is pure.

Even if he does tweak his shot, it's gonna take time. Kawhi Leonard is the exception not the rule. You realistically have to give Hal two-three years to work on his mechanics. That said, I still think he can be effective in spot up situations right out the gate.

I want Barrett to be the number 1 option next season. No more of this Julius Randle crap.

RJ would need to come back with a serviceable jump shot. So far, it's a work in progress.

But Julius has one?

Julius, if directed, could become a valuable piece. He hits the short jumper and goes to the hole strong. Everything depends on where he receives the ball. Coming over the half court line? Recipe for disaster. Cutting to the hole or in the paint? Much better results. 19 points and 9 rebounds is not numbers to skin your nose at. This is a rebuild, let's slow down and see what we're working with.

I 100% give him credit for being a beast on the boards. My issue with him is his court awareness and the fact that he forces himself to turn into a 1v5 player no matter where or how he touches the ball.

Good point! Randle's stats this season were comparable to or better than KP's. Yet people wanna run Julius out of town, while lamenting the loss of KP to no end. Talk about greener grass.

Nobody here ever talks about KP. Ever. He is not missed.
