He’s been in the league for quite a while now but he plays like he’s super talented but fresh out of just the YMCA. It’s crazy to me. I don’t see his problems as easily fixable as others do.

If you want to put it into perspective, I think Jamal Crawford was a smarter Knick than Julius.... and I liked Crawford but he was not high IQ at all.

TripleThreat was right. There are only a very, very limited number of people over 6'7" in the world. Julius Randle happens to be one of them.

He looks like Helen Keller on skates. Honestly, he obviously can't "see" anyone on the court (teammates, defenders, refs), but I wonder if he can't even hear them.
And he moves like he can't see the ball, either.

Loses control of it way too much and that’s the biggest problem. His strength is taking it to the hoop but his biggest weakness is awareness of what’s surrounding you, which is what you need the most when you take it to the hoop!

Even when he's not making a move, he just throws the ball away. I guess he fills the stat line though, so barring some Rosey miracle, he's not going anywhere. I don't get the thinking that better players will make him better at not dribbling into traffic, at not dribbling off his feet, at not jumping into the air pointlessly, at not losing his dribble at the worst possible times...

What they ( better players) might do is open up the paint for him with their shooting so that he doesn't have to go to the spin move once he gets into the paint. Or they might deliver the ball to him when he has an at least a semi-open lane to drive to the hoop

Yes, having good shooters and passers surrounding him is ideal. With that said, it still has to be perfect. Either Randle has to post up down super duper low, which is not easy, or the shooters just have to be hot, which will not always happen. The problem is that a double can still come from any direction... and as hard as it is to guard him 1v1, it’s just as easy to double him.

I’m inclined to trade him for whatever. He needs to get away from the young players.

If he learns to pass out of the double that would be sweet. I know the NBA doesnt play inside-out anymore tho. You might be right, moving him could be good. The only thing stopping me from being fully committed to that is Z-Bo. I thought that trading him was right st the time, and then he went on to become one of the top 4 man in the league.

Back up a sec. When he sees the paint open, what is he going to do? Unless he develops incredible broad jumping skills, all he's going to do is dribble off his feet, dribble back into traffic, or throw the ball out of bounds trying to pass to those outside shooters. Spin, rinse, repeat.
