Woj reporting that Rose the leading candidate for the FO job. I don't know Rose from a hole in the wall - thoughts?

he is a big time sports agent/attrny working with CAA..had some big name clients including Melo, wade, LBJ, embiid..

Represents Towns. Obviously Dolan seems to think free agency and signing big FAs is the key rather than developing talent and drafting wisely. same crap over and over again.

Represented old favorites, Eddy Curry, Balkman, mardy Collins, Melo, JR Smith, so has a relationship with Dolan.

Couldn’t wait til the offseason for someone with a proven track record, instead goes for a big name with zero experience in the role they’re being hired for because he thinks it will land him a star player in free agency. We learn nothing

The New York Knicks will hire Leon Rose as President of Basketball Operations.

Rose is a longtime agent and currently works for CAA.

Rose represents Carmelo Anthony, Karl-Anthony Towns, D'Angelo Russell, Devin Booker, Joel Embiid, Kyle Kuzma, Chris Paul and many other NBA players.

Ian Begley reports that William Wesley is under consideration to have a role with the Knicks. Rose and Wesley are longtime associates.

omg like you know. WE are going to have a $150mm payroll full of CAA 30 year old retreads, make the 7th seed and amoebas like you will be dancing in the streets talking about winning culture

Yeah, it's a bad look. One, it shows that Dolan hasn't learned his lesson and is still making high stakes gambles on dudes with no FO experience. Two, it shows he hasn't realized the damage sucking on the CAA teat has caused over the years. This franchise is hopeless.

I'm not too sour on this... I am happy that we aren't getting a guy who is about to retire and needs one last payday. This guy has a lot to prove, but also has connections and maybe free agents actually take a meeting with the team. More importantly I like that the new guy is here and has a chance to approve any deals so it doesn't turn into another 'frank just got here and the guy who wanted him is gone' type of situations
