I like that. If it can get Smith jr. to make better use of his athleticism, all for it.

I like the innovation...One of the reasons why I liked the Fiz hire is because he spent 8 years working with Pat Riley and Spo. My hopes were that Riles tendencies and habits rubbed off on Fiz and he would bring them to the Garden. Riles teams were always in the best shape, always defended at a high level, his teams compete hard and play with a sense of urgency on every single possession which is why Riles Knicks and Heat teams usually overachieved, and his attention to detail and a need for his teams to strive for perfection in terms of execution were near maniacal.

I see glimpse of Riles influence here and there but its too inconsistent right now. The lack of talent is obvious, especially last year, but the main thing thats perhaps the most disappointing is the lack of competing for all 4 quarters for all 48 mins...Falling behind by 28 pts to teams with similar talent is inexcusable for a coach from the Riles tree...That rarely happened with any Pat Riley teams and when it did, you better believe the players had a 3-4 hour practice the following day and 2 hours of film would follow....

Fiz just needs to get these guys playing with a sense of urgency, and is he does that, I think his job will and should be safe this year...I do like the change up with 12 second shot clock...

Is this really that dramatic? Teams often only have close to 12 seconds when they get the ball over and are able to initiate offense. Likewise offensive rebound only gives you 14 seconds.

LOL, that was my take-away too.

But seriously, great news for the team, and I think can do wonders for Frank. Just changes the mindset of "When you have a really good shot, take it."

Look for more volume which means turnovers and errant shots. Process moves dial but might not execuate to a win.
Call for Fiz's head again? Pull out positive moments to build on? Depends on your emotional state.

In Begley’s article he mentioned Fiz wants Morris and Randle getting up the floor faster, getting more layups and getting to the line three or four more times. Fiz may not be confronting these guys about their play on offense but he is challenging them to change to get easier shots and to the line more. T would be great to see Randle leaking out on the break instead of walking the ball up and shooting a bad three or going to his spin move.

depends on the results!

I'm glad he is trying something.

I wish he would try having them run the offense without taking any dribbles! That might actually do something!

Is he now realizing his team is slow AF, this should have been done since DAY 1 of training camp.

He starts 4 Fwds (knox, taj, randle, morris) and a slow ass pg, and wonders why they're not pushing the pace..throwing noodles on the wall again uh...well I hope it works for his job sake

My very first thought when I read about the 12 second clock in practice. At least Fizdale is trying you can’t ask for more. You would think he would have done this in preseason dude is late to everything.

Cut his spin move from seven steps to four.

Next to worst Offensive rating in the league! So let's do that faster!
How about if he does push ups on the side lines whenever Morris or Randle force up a bad shot in traffic?

And why not SSOL?

I’d say that his state of shock from our new 12 second system will allow Frank to grab the ball from him before he can turn it over.... except Frank is out probably.

He also needs some free throw shooting in the mix. Seems like just relying on the players to work on their free throw shooting after practice isn't working.

maybe he should try using a 48 minute clock so the team gives effort for the entire game!

Why would you practice with a non regulation limit on the shot clock.

Can this buffoon already.
