If we land in the #2 or #3 position - what could/would/should we give up to obtain the #1 pick?

Since it seems like the consensus is there is Zion and 2 very good/impacting players afterwards - what do we do if we land in the 2 or 3 position? Ja seems like the 2nd best talent but we already have Dennis Smith Jr, Frank, maybe Mud... not sure if we would pick him given the roster and possibility of signing a Kyrie or Kemba in free agency. If true, should we stand pat and draft next best player (eg Barret) or try to offer a player and move up? Not sure what it would take to go from 2 or 3 to pick 1. I'd give up Knox, Trier and/or Frank - but think M.Rob should be untouchable at this point.

So what do people think it would take to move up?

And if so, what would people here be willing to give up to move up and draft Zion?

I would give Dallas 2021 which figures to be a good pick, considering we shipped bad contracts to Dallas, our own 2019 and one of DSJr or Frank.

With that being said, Barrett is a beast himself. I think the Knicks are still in a good spot if they draft second.

not to mention, we're still in a good spot at 3... we could draft Ja and then auction off either him or DSJ tot he highest bidder

IMO,

Zion is a bit of a tweener in th NBA. Yes he is big and athletic but is he a 3 or a 4? Doesn't handle well or shoot 3 point well. Inside game is good but at 6'7 will be going against guys that are 6'11+. Can he defend the 3? Cant see him chasing guys around screens too much. Can he defend the 4? Taller guys will get their shot off on him. I think he will be good but to be that next level, has a lot to work on. Showtime athleticism for sure and he will get his 20/8 likely Also at 275# now, will weight be an issue going forward? Just not sure he is a #1 pick - if weight becomes an issue...less athleticism and lesser skills may mean lower ceiling.

Barret has an NBA game...good handle, good shooter, can take guys off the dribble. Defends well and can be a solid 2 or 3. Same height as Zion but position is clear. Long arms. Also has a bit of the killer instinct in him. Very Smooth..

How many duke games have you watch this season.. This dude can jump out of the GYM at 6 7" 280. I never seen a kid that size with that much athletic ability ,other than labron, and he's 40 pounds heavier..

If the knicks are sure they can get KD, then i would go with Barret or JA

I suppose the question depends on who gets the pick, were we are, and thru the process determine our priority.
Not that I have any reason to doubt Zion, but Ainge doubted consensus no. 1 Fultz and went his way with Tatum.
While we love Zion, maybe Barrett or Reddish are special also. That trio needs room to breath and grow to really know the depth of their talents.

Barrett kinda sucks if im being honest. dude is a low efficient chucker in college. I'd rather have Jarret Culver over him if I'm being honest.

Cam Reddish was the man last night looking like Klay on his shooting. He was shooting bombs from 5-6 behind the arc.

Reddish has been forgotten because he's not having a great year, but he has big upside. He's built for today's league with his shooting ability.

I'd prefer Reddish over Barrett i think. Better shooter and more opportunity to be a good complimentary player while still having star potential.

Conversely - If we land number 1 what would we trade it for if management has doubts on Zion?

Trade back to 4 and other assets? Take Reddish + more that

Zion is a freak athlete but I have my doubts too with his size and weight. When hes not playing - even watching him walk is awkward. It seems like he needs to skip instead of regular walking to support the extra weight. I've noticed this after his post game interviews. All that weight cant be good for his back. He has exaggerated lordosis

Barrett doesn’t suck but he is no shooter. He frequently looks awful when he shoots. Reddish might have looked good last night but his overall shooting numbers are awful. Even Morant plays pretty sloppy despite hos athleticism. The top of this draft, IMO, is overrated. If we don’t get the number 1 pick, I am VERY open to trading it to the highest bidder.

I have zero worries about Zions’ game. He has it all and I have complete faith in him to improve his shot. He doesn’t need to be a pure shooter. Barrett does.

My sentiments exactly, but I'd like to see what Reddish does during March Madness before saying no.

Weight loss plan from pro nutritionists not exactly rocket science. He will be sculpted for performance by our training staff. Not worried about his weight in ANY way. He's a big guy...so is LBJ. We need Zion.

It's not rocket science at all, but there has to be a commitment to that in the draft combine interviews
