I tend to think this rumor from SAS might be true. We will never know, but seems like there's more to this Kawhi drama than we realize, and better believe that Pop could build his next great team around KP and Ntilikina. And i'm glad it won't happen.

Advice: According to the report, "Months of discord centering on elements of treatment, rehabilitation and timetables for return from a right quadriceps injury have had a chilling impact" on Leonard's relationship with the front office and coaching staff. Wojnarowski adds that "there is work to be done to repair what has been until now a successful partnership," so the Spurs find themselves in rare territory for a franchise that is considered to be one of the best in all of sports. Spurs GM RC Buford has refuted these claims, but did add that this process has been "difficult for everyone." The superstar forward remains without a timetable to return as he continues to rehab his troublesome quad injury.

Advice: "It hasn't responded the way we wanted it to," said coach Gregg Popovich. "You try to react to how he feels after the games he's played in a little bit. It just hasn't gone as well as we've wanted it to. So we're going to stop him for an indefinite period – I don't know how long that will be – to get more strength and hopefully get him back on the court." This is very concerning given he's only appeared in nine games this season, and Pop's quote seems to imply there's a chance he might not be back this season. Owners in leagues that don't offer an IR-spot have a tough decision to make.

Coach Gregg Popovich said the Spurs are expecting Kawhi Leonard (quad) to return at some point this season.
Advice: Leonard is out indefinitely, but it does sound like he's looking at an extended time off. Considering how careful the Spurs were with him before and how he's only played nine games, it's fair to guess he's not going to play before the All-Star Game. His owners have to hold him and trading for him isn't the worst idea, assuming you're not giving up an elite player. Kyle Anderson is worth an add in 12-team leagues.

Advice: He wasn't on the initial injury report Monday, so it could have been a case of Gregg Popovich simply managing his biggest star.

Advice: Leonard also wasn't on the injury report on Monday but ended up being a late scratch, which was apparently due to his "return from injury management" program. He'll have had three full days off going into Wednesday's game, so he should be able to get out there barring a setback. Check back for another update following Wednesday morning's shootaround.

Advice: He just can't catch a break and neither can his fantasy owners. His shoulder seemed fine in Saturday's game, but this quad injury has been an issue since the offseason. Don't be surprised if the Spurs hold him out in what should be an easy win. If he sits, Kyle Anderson and Davis Bertans will step up with LaMarcus Aldridge carrying the offense.

Advice: The Spurs have been extremely cautious with Leonard this season, not allowing him to play unless he's had two full days off in between games, and that's apparently the reason why he sat out Monday's game (he logged 28 minutes on Saturday). Hopefully, this means we can expect to see him back on the court on Wednesday in Brooklyn, and owners can expect to get another update by Wednesday morning's shootaround at the latest.

Advice: "He's looking confident in his body," Popovich said. "He wasn't winded tonight, which surprised me. He's coming along well." Leonard has played in consecutive games only once and has not played on less than two days' rest, but he said he "needs to string some games together" and that he's remaining patient as he works his way back to 100 percent.

It's the Spurs trying to get a steal, like they always do.
They got KL for Hill.
Now KP/Frank for KL?
Pop coaching Frank, Parker mentoring him.
KP in Pop's system playing the Duncan role?
Come on man, that's a great great trade for Pop and the Spurs and they were trying to fleece Phil Jackson.
Thankfully Phil never took it.

I'm assuming this is back when we had our eight pick and KP was being shopped for skipping the exit meeting.
