Maybe this year’s NBA rookies didn’t know how to spell his name.

In a rookie survey that took place two weeks ago during the league’s annual rookie photo shoot in Tarrytown, Knicks point guard Frank Ntilikina didn’t receive a single vote in any of the categories that were voted upon.

Thirty first-year players received at least one vote, including Dennis Smith Jr., who won the Rookie of the Year polling. Former Knicks president Phil Jackson passed on Smith at No. 8 to take the Frenchman, who turned 19 in July.

Smith had a remarkable summer league in Las Vegas for the Mavericks, who were high on Ntilikina but sources say were just as thrilled to nab Smith with the ninth selection. The Knicks face the Mavericks in Dallas on Jan. 7. Dallas visits the Garden on March 13.

It is fairly understandable Ntilikina got overlooked because he missed the entire summer league in Orlando with a knee injury, and few players have seen him in French League action. But getting shut out completely should serve as motivational fodder for Ntilikina, who led his team to the French League finals, at which he injured his knee in the decisive Game 5.

Ntilikina, noted for his 6-5 height and 7-foot wingspan, didn’t even manage a vote for best rookie defender – which was won by Suns forward Josh Jackson. Nets center Jarrett Allen, taken 22nd, received one defensive vote.

Donovan Mitchell Jr., also passed on by the Knicks, won the polling for “steal of the draft’’ as he was taken 13th by Utah. Detroit’s Luke Kennard notched a win in the category of “Best Shooter’’ while Smith captured “Most Athletic.’’

Before the draft, the departed Jackson made a noteworthy comment, stating he was not looking for the most athletic player who could “jump out of the gym” or post “triple-double games.’’ Smith recorded a record two triple-double games against ACC competition in his lone season at N.C. State. New Knicks president Steve Mills, after he got promoted, stood by the Ntilikina pick.

There were 39 players at the rookie photo shoot and all participated in the survey.

Or they've never seen him play. Most NCAA draftees know one another and know each other' games. There is no reason those guys should know his game, they're not 'scouting' YouTube videos like what you are.

or maybe, JUST MAYBE, no rookies have seen him play because he's only played in ****ing france and none of these guys have watched international basketball. please man, get a ****ing grip.

First off start showing the kid respect and use his name. Ntilikina. WTF is "Nitty"?
Then take your meds like the bottle says instead of using us as your emotional tampon every time you need a hug.

and please understand ROY is not always a career maker either. Some years the kids are really young. NTilikina would be going into his freshman year at college.
Draft is not guarantee of anything. We have lots of history in the NBA of top picks busting. Its part of the process. Few enter the league as a sure thing and meet or exceed the hype.
