What a great idea! Bring back a player who ignored KP, played no D, went AWOL, and couldn't last the season. One of the most injured players of the last 5 years. If this story is true, it would explain why I never wanted Mills anywhere near personel decisions.

Really hope this doesn't happen. Has anyone heard of a market for Rose? Sounds like one team right now, sounds familiar.

I'm hoping it's just a negotiating ploy to get George Hill to sign with us.

I thought the same thing. My concern is that they are desperate to get a name point guard and there aren't many left. Rose would be a mistake in my opinion. His alleged troubles with KP, health, and the AWOL incident should eliminate him from being a knick.

I for one don't see why some of you didn't like the way Rose played. Defense started with the coach who is constantly barking out direction in practice and games. Did any of you see that in Jeff?? I never did!!
Next question, What about KP, Melo and K.Q?? Defensive is a team responsibility not the PG. So most of you don't know what you talking about. Just saying something because it sound good.
IF MELO IS GONE(I HOPE) THEN WE NEED ROSE BUT WE NEED HIM REGARDLESS!!!

The issue with Rose is that he PROMISED to be more of a Passing PG and to HELP KP to excel but then he literally FROZE KP out. I just don't understand why it was so hard for Rose to build any chemistry with KP. KP was WIDE OPEN on so many of Rose's drives when he was doubled. Rose had a solid personal season but didn't do enough TEAM wise.

Also, why bring him back on a rebuilding team. I could be wrong but I don't see him as a pass the torch kind of guy. I think if Melo will waive his NTC he will be in Houston before the end of the summer.

Literally everything is continuing as if Phil never left.

Melo on trade block.
Hornachek still coach.
Baker re-signed.
Drafted Ntilikina.
We're trying to see what Rose wants financially.
Refusing to trade future draft picks - latest was Rubio trade talks. Interest in Rubio remains.

I think we're seeing that the Knicks have a longterm plan for once. One that was designed with Phil. Whether we agree with it or not, it's good to see we have a plan for present and the next year or two. We're not going to be a contender anytime soon.

To me I've always been ok with Rose and prefer him to Melo. Unlike Melo, Rose atleast is an attack guard and can run screen/roll or screen/pop with our bigs. Rose is 28, while Melo is 33, 5 years older. Rose does not infect or pretend to be in anyone's ear. He simply plays basketball, for himself. Rose is not going to get in Ntilikina's way, because he's more of a 2 guard while Frank is a pass first point. Rose seemed to have chemistry with Baker.

The big problem is Rose has less chemistry with KP. Which I'm fine with. I'm pretty tired of the KP diva act. He needs to show he's a great player before his camp starts dictating who he should play with.

Melo is not waiving his NTC to go to Houston, after every report indicating his desire to remain close to his son and wife. The trash houston is sending back are not draft picks and youth.

What did you expect? Phil was fired less than a week ago and we still do not have a prez, yet. Why fire Hornaccek before hiring a new GM/Prez? Phils plan was half-assed...He tried to build around Melo and rebuild at the same time which wasn't a good idea...He kinda sorta backed into the idea of a rebuild because of the public spats he had with Melo. Either way, anyone with common sense could see that phil played a big role in the dysfunction and it was time to go...Its also obvious that Melo has a hand in the dysfunction and its time to severe ties with him too...

Reaching out to Rose is a mistake, especially if Melo comes back...I'd rather they look at MCW or a young guard who hasn't gotten a fair shot....

Biggest issue is his court vision, lack of outside shot and jump paases/turnovers. But agree that he is one of the biggest threats in the open court in the NBA. I was rooting for him and a buddy, I played in college with who is a Chicago guy, kept telling me to just wait. And not in a good way.
And if you want Melo gone, I assume because of his ball dominance, it makes no sense you would want one of the biggest ball dominant players in the league?

hopefully we contact him and asked him to empty the rest of the stuff from his locker!

It might make sense to bring him back on a 1 year deal with a team option. And then only if Melo is gone and if Hornacek vouches that he can get him to play better.

I loved his drives and finishes at the rim. I loved his pull up mid range game. But that was it.

Maybe a non triangle system would help him be a playmaker, but I am not holding my breath.

Last season I spent over $30k taking my family to Knicks games. They won't be seeing a shiny cent in 2017-18 if they sign that joker to a new contract. Of course nobody will give a damn but if our ball club have so little about them as to bring that uncommitted, selfish, waste of oxygen back I'll be saying enoughs enough.

The fact is we need someone to run the point while Frank develops. Baker is not the answer. The guy is not a point guard. If we could get Rose on a one year mega deal like Reddick just signed with Philly, I would be okay with Rose coming back to allow frank to slowly grow into the role. But no multi year deal unless Rose is taking a $10-$12 million a year deal.
