If Mills had spent the last three years working under a very good president then maybe this makes sense.CrushAlot wrote:Well you wanted Phil gone...this is what is gonna happen. |

I was very excited when Phil was hired. He had a tremendous opportunity with power and autonomy. His performance was more than disappointing. But my hope is that Dolan has recognized the importance of stepping away and letting his basketball guys make decisions. I was excited to hear about the guy they brought in to help Mills with the hunt for a new pres. He appears to be a guy that would find a person qualified to do the job. I hope that is what he does. I don't think Mills is that guy. I'm tired,I'm tired, I'm so tired right now......Kristaps Porzingis 1/3/18

Phil only took half my suggestion, lol. I said put Mills back at president and Gaines at GM. Griffin wouldn't have the same relationship with Dolan, Dolan had with Isiah (unless he wins a lot) so it might work better with Mills as president again without Isiah having the run of the place. Still doesnt look like they would be cleaning house.

Phil was offered up to the masses as a sacrifice. The Knicks Brass don't feel like they need a complete overhaul. Phil wasn't kidding when he said they think they know what they're doing. Phil basically did everything that he could at this point with regards to setting up the rebuild. Phil chose all of the players we have on the team and on the Summer League team.
Essentially the hard work is already done. Adding a stop gap PG isn't hard work!!! What is it that you think any GM is going to be doing right now anyway? This team isn't about trying to win a Title next year. This is about player development now. They're gonna let these young players grow and then figure out what they've got and what they may need. There's no rush to hire a new guy. The machine Phil left is still running. |

Gaines has the pedigree for bigger and better things, so I hope the Knicks are smart enough to make him a part of the franchise's future. |
