so even IF phil wasn't ruling out trading kp - it doesn't mean he's going to. plus, i wouldn't think he's actually considering it. i think martin's thread from yesterday speaks pretty loudly on woj and what he's been doing with his reporting lately, i'm not so sure this is true.

Woj is literally just making stuff up. It's known he has no sources with the Knicks. He is just trying to make something out of Phil meeting with Markkenan, which seems like due diligence. Besides, KP is a center. He could still easily draft Markkenan, although i doubt it. This is just recycling his opinions from April.

This isn't shocking.
Begley reported Knicks got a ton of calls for Porzingis after he skipped the exit meeting.
Teams know KP and Knicks not on best terms.
They are trying to tempt Phil into making a deal now.

I wonder what the offers are,

My guess?

Boston for sure, with #3, future pick, and maybe a rotation player?
Lakers with #2 and a young rotation/starting player.
Sacto with #5 and a young rotation/starting player.

Phil should pass on these offers. Only players I trade KP for are Towns or Anthony Davis. Upgrade in talent. Do not downgrade. Plus, how about drafting a kid and building a longterm team around/with him. We like never do that.

If it takes just one missed meeting to trade our best draft pick in 30 years, then I hope Phil is shown the door. This would only push the rebuilding even further back, provide Phil with more excuses.

One season you give Noah a huge deal as if he wasn't an oft injured bench player in Chicago before he left. Traded our best big man in years, in Lopez on reasonable deal, who delivered, and hasn't missed a game in 2 seasons.

If this is followed up by shipping away KP, It better be a real good fing deal to keep me watching.

KP is worth much more than any of these. Yes he has some issues but he and KAT right now are by far the two biggest "gets" in the league, and I can't think of anyone else who is even close (of course I'm disqualifying the Lebron and Kawhi's and the other MVP-types) -- biggest opportunity to be superstars if they keep at it. Consider that KP has yet to be even close to a focal point, has a good head on his shoulders (though knucklehead brothers), he's everything Shawn Bradley was hyped to be and then some.

Boston would be in the best position to make an offer we couldn't refuse -- but we should still refuse it

Couldn't agree more...We should be looking to add on and build our core with KP, not hit the resent button again. Trading him for a draft pick would be asinine. Which player from picks 2-8 can impact the game on both sides of the ball like KP has done for us in the 1st 2 seasons and has similar potential and growth?

i hate to say it, but your view has been as tainted as woj's lately. even if it's true and he's listening to offers, it doesn't mean he'll trade him. if a team offered a huge haul, why wouldn't you listen? doesn't mean he's going anywhere.

Pretty much. I don't see any real news. Teams always call to ask about player availability, especially prior to the draft. Every team's phone is ringing off the hook right now. We only hear about this because it's the knicks. We don't hear about teams calling the pelicans about Anthony Davis.

this is what I'm assuming. Of course, there's a frenzy. KP is awesome. Doesn't mean we're biting

If this were to happen (praying for the contrary), KP should be the deal-sweetner for someone to take Melo as well and provide nothing but value back (no bad contracts); real talent and picks. Perhaps through Noah into that equation too

begley said "according to sources" which could be anyone, even woj.

i think martin hit this on the head - woj isn't getting any information from the knicks (and hasn't been) so he's doing what he knows will disrupt the franchise the most and that's flame kp rumors.

I mean if Phil opened up the possibility of moving KP in order to see what he could get then its not that crazy. If he actually trades him though then it better be a trade where Boston overpays with draft picks. Like #3, rights to Nets pick 2018 and the unprotected pick they got from Philly(LA or Sac).

Would give us 5 top 8 lotto picks this yr and next. Something you would have to consider.
