That would be great. Berman's article today said the Mavs have been scouting him since he was 17. I don't think he lasts past 9. If he is the guy Gaines and Phil want they should take him. I don't think he is there if they somehow get 12 from the pistons.

If we can choose between Frank and Dennis Smith I'd really be torn because Smith looks like such a good prototypical PG for today's game. I think that we'd take Frank given that choice.

I see Smith as a guy who may put up numbers but would he contribute to winning? I see him as a OJ Mayo type player.

A talent like Smith can definitely contribute to winning. Its up to phil to put together the right pieces and develop a winning culture...Right now, KP nor Willy are not contributing to winning because we have a roster that's not very talented right now. Just because Smith is a lead guard who can put up numbers doesn't mean he can't be apart of a winning team.

Best case scenario would be him staying there at 14, which would allow us to trade down for the Blaxers' picks at 15, 20 and 26. That would put us in a position to still draft him and add other players to help us hedge on the possibility of walking away with a bust.

Too much well known talent to take a risk on Nitty. In a weaker draft I can see taking the shot but there are much more sure options in this draft. You have to be ULTRA confident in Ntilikina IMO.

I don't think the Knicks look at Frank as unknown talent. They have arguably the best European network of scouts and have been following him for years.

There's no sure options in any draft. You know this Nix so not sure why you'd say that. Both DSJ and M.Monk have questions about their games in the NBA and those are the other that are most being talked about at #8 for us. Nobody on here or any fan can say what Frank is gonna be in the NBA cause there's just not enough info to be had on him. You can't go off of the stats these kids that play euro ball put up cause they're all used in odd ways over there. Supposedly Frank is only asked to guard the other teams best player and they don't ask him to put up great numbers on offense, and if that's true then we have no idea what he can do when he's asked to run a team and play his game offensively. We know defensively he's gonna be really good though.

Agree. I don't know how anyone can say a 6'2" shooting guard is a sure thing. Let's say his scoring carries over, his lack of playmaking and defense limits how you can use him. Too many questions for a sure fire star. Smith has talent, but the intangibles. He's one guy I'd like to see play en extra year, but can't blame him for leaving. Forget about the triangle, I worry about DSJs fit in any winning team dynamic. I think Zach Collins is the closest thing to a surefire NBA starter in our range and he has a lot of questions as well.
