I wouldn't take Monk #8. He's one dimensional and that dimension disappears for big chunks of games.

I am not even saying you are wrong, it may be that way but how many guys with elite athleticism AND elite shooting have been taking in the lottery and failed in the NBA? Lots of great shooters, lots of great athletes.. how many were both and busted? Thing with Monk is you are pretty much guaranteed to get a good NBA player. What his role/position is is TBD, but he's got almost no bust potential barring an injury which would be unforeseen "winning is more fun... then fun is fun" -Thibs

I watched a lot of Kentucky. I think he's an undersized 2, and playing D will be a challenge for him, as will getting to mid range or to the rack, because he'll be defended by bigger stronger guys. He's a streaky 6th man type.

Monk will be guarding PG's. He's not going to be undersized at PG. Monk's ability Off the Ball will work well in the Triangle. |

He's a streaky 6th man type.bigger and stronger guys puts him at a strength. This guy would be one of the quickest, most athletic players in the NBA. Monk is not just another short SG, most drafts he would be a top 5 lock. He probably goes ahead of the Russell in the KP draft. Also in this version of the NBA quickness has far more impact on defense that size and power. Length is still key for sure. Wasnt Steph Curry a SG in a PG body? Their #s are almost identical at the same age, and Monk's combine scores blow Curry's away "winning is more fun... then fun is fun" -Thibs

Are you saying what he will do if he is drafted by NY or in general? |

Also in this version of the NBA quickness has far more impact on defense that size and power. Length is still key for sure. The problem I have is that if he has so much elite athleticism why didn't it result in a better 2pt%, rebs, or stls? A short Klay Thompson is cool but a Klay Thompson without the defense is hard to build around. Also, I do not see Monk combine numbers listed but I do see his UK team numbers on DraftExpress. Looking at some of his past measurements(USA) I am a little skeptical of his vert numbers. I think his wingspan is around 6'6 and his standing reach is higher than listed which means the numbers on his vert numbers could be off. I thought this for a long time and argued that Fox and Monk would measure better at the combine. Fox did go to the combine and his wingspan was closer to what he measured with team USA. So you might want to add that to your assessment. That doesn't mean Monk isn't athletic because he is but the elite numbers may not be there. |

Right. Plus Monk is no less a PG than guys like Westbrook and Harden coming out of college. No he's not Wall or C Paul, but the talent is there. Those comparing him to Lou Williams or Crawford or someone like that don't realize the athletic ability or shooting ability he has. He is elite in both categories, whereas these elite 6th men aren't. |

Thank u .. Rubio n Randle plus rookie Monk and Baker .. we talking 17 win season .. KP is not a winning player who score when we need a score nor rebound when we really need a rebound nor defend hard when we need a stop. |
