Right now a new GM would be plenty of accountability for me.

The only chance of that is to convince Melo to stay and have a different role in the offense. But that's obviously not happening.

Would you trade KP for George?

No. I think George is overrated.

same... george is a really good #2, but not an alpha.

Absolutely not.

I think this is clear that PG is gone though. Bird probably saw the writing on the wall and doesn't have the drive to spend 5 years rebuilding that team back into a playoff team. Also, a very underrated factor is, what happens if the Lakers fall out of the top 3, and don't get a pick? There will be no ideal trade for PG there. Russell and Ingram isn't enough, since neither is a sure-thing. Other teams won't give full value for him as a rental. Celtics definitely wouldn't trade their pick for him if it's top 3, or at least they shouldn't, unless there's an extension to go with it. Pacers might be stuck in a tough situation.

I'm surprised the MSM isn't ripping him a new one for his press conference which is the first in how long?

You've spouted too much bile on this board directed at other posters to be lecturing anyone on what is appropriate behavior.

Just cuz you make the playoffs doesn't mean you have a clear path towards real Title Contention. It's very difficult to build a great team and sometimes you need to have a fresh perspective on what you're actually doing.

Pacers switched things up but ultimately they haven't really gotten anywhere! Can they point to or identify what's missing??? What's the clear move they need to make in order to take the next step?

I think the Lakers will try to build a "super team" if they can get Phil to take to take Deng and Brewer for Melo.

Then they would need to trade, Ingram and the #3 pick for George.

Finally, they will need to convince Lowry or Chris Paul to come over. If both guys are out in the second round I think they might really think about jumping ship.

Now, if I am Magic I wouldn't do any of that.
