I honestly feel like a douche (more than normal)

http://www.postingandtoasting.com/2017/4/17/15333388/carmelo-and-la-la-anthony-have-separated

This explains a lot about his body language and poor play this year. I feel for him. I was about 33 when my then future ex wife and I seperated. Ill spare you the details aside from it being a very rough time. One thing that was huge for me was playing (base)ball. I remember feeling so focused and ready to play. I had so much energy from the negativity in my life. I was dying to play, I was a gym rat and in my best shape ever and I stunk. I was just not good and it really taught that even though you dont think you are distracted you are. You may think you are dealing with stress well, and you may be but it still impacts you.

Regardless of his future here this is a tough thing for any man to go through and focus at the high level an NBA athlete needs to focus on. Hell I felt it and I was just a weekend warrior playing hardball.

Once a Knick always a Knick. Hope things stay Melo for Melo

Stand up guy. It was also brave to admit that you're a douche and don't belong anywhere near a basketball court. J/K.

You helped put things in perspective fish. Much appreciated.

feel bad for melo b/c of this.

but i already felt bad for him.

and i want him to leave too. for his and the knicks sake. you don't gotta be a melo hater to want him off the knicks.

Big of you Fish. Feel bad for his son. We may not see eye to eye sometimes/always about Phil but your post is stand up. Btw, I am moving to Florida in a few weeks. Main reason, other than the weather and business move, is to play in a MSBL weekend warrior wood bat league. Lol Who would of thunk that a guy like you with such a horrible Phil perspective plays some ball too.

Read that they had been leading separate lives for some time and its been a business relationship.
Im not all that bought in that this is weighing heavy on him. I think his reactions are more subdude because of it, and they do have a son together which is why Melo has been adamant about not wanting to move.
Melo in Brooklyn? Keeps him home.
Melo in Philly? Boston? Easy to spend time in NYC on some days off.

Fish, don't feel bad, few years ago La LA was out to the movies with another dude and rumors were out then.
Im not taking down what you went thru.

I Hate to see this. It may explain much of the attitude this year.

I hope the best for he and his children. They are affected most.

Media should stop dissecting personal lives of people. I respect everyone's need for privacy especially when going through tough situations. Instead we are discussing their divorce in a public forum, doesn't feel right.

I also feel bad for Phil - a few years ago he was happily married, living in LA, with an elite record and reputation. Now he's looking at his last years separated, and his reputation trashed on a daily basis- I do wonder if he regrets his decision to sign on with the knicks. Some things are bigger than basketball.

First off, both of these men have lived very public lives. Phil has long been divorced from his wife and discussed what he wanted to in his book. He took a lot of the blame as the intensity of his profession as a coach took its toll. As for him and Jennnie Buss, they had lived together and Phil was ready to take a job in Seattle and why he choose NY in that relationship was not disclosed. They were engaged to Marry, but then split.
As for Melo, their "Private Lives" was a reality TV show. I never saw it, but thats not living a "Private life". It was written that their marriage became more business like once they moved to NYC. The article said "Melo was young, she was a TV star and it was genuine, but then they relocated....and had separate lives as well".

Don't feel bad for either of them. They choose a life they way they wanted it and are doing fine. As for "Whose to blame", yeah, the media will jump on that because people will take sides. Thats just human nature.

+1 to this post. Emotions run deep, and a failed marriage hits way down there. Focus? Nah. Not under those circumstances.

yeah, it blows... I read some gossip article and I had no idea that La La was the godmother of the Basketball Wives. Similarly, when all the players had their pictures at Chris Paul's wedding, La La had her fingerprints all over it. She kind of helped orchestrate the NBA power structure. So, this is going to be messy and I'm sure details will leak... so it's got to be about as rough as it can get

Look, if Melo and PHil have a simpatico moment and Melo admits to personal strife having him lapse with the ball and disrupting the flow and swears his allegiance, then perhaps we can all move together.
But, he should waive the NTC and if he don't adhere to the promise, then he gets traded.
Reality is its just time for many reasons. Some being age, team, phil, melo, etc etc...........Just makes sense.
If Melo really wants to focus on his kid, stay in NYC, be a good husband, etc, and the triangle, PHil and what ever is ruining his life, then he can retire. Lots of people change jobs/professions when it infect the most sacred duty a man has, which is as father and Husband, why should he be different? If not, then its melo that puts money over his family, not Knicks. Not like he is banging out the rent and food on the table!
Melo don't live the same lives as us, with the same problems. Divorce sucks, but when your worth over a hundred Mil you have choices others don't have.

I don't think so. I hate to say it but this the norm. Its very rare that famous people stick it out together. He had to of known it was coming, anyways regular people who aren't rich and famous go through this also, the work place asks that you leave you personal life out of the business. This is just another excuse. there is going to be no revelation and Melo is all of a sudden going to make great passes and hold the ball less.

If true...it would seem that Anthony strayed before his marriage...

Carmelo Anthony Allegedly Knocked Up Dancer ... La La Pissed

12:50 AM PDT
Exclusive Details

Carmelo Anthony was messing around with a woman who now claims she's pregnant with his baby -- and as you can imagine, his wife, La La, is pissed ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Multiple sources tell us ... the other woman often works at a gentlemen's club in NYC, and we're told she's claiming to be 6 and a half months pregnant with Melo's child.

We're also told she has made it clear to Melo she expects him to kick in for medical expenses and other baby related costs.

Sources close to both Melo and La La are telling us the marriage has been rocky for a while -- and while the pregnancy wasn't the tipping point, it certainly didn't help.

So far, neither side has filed divorce papers but we're told there's virtually zero chance of a reconciliation.

I'm probably more into the moral character of athletes than many of you...have to admit it. I would be very disappointed if this is true because I've always believed that Anthony, despite his flaws, was a good family man who didn't get into the trouble many athletes get into.

Sad ending for them.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?
Sorry Melo
