Just out of curiosity, if Phil decided to move KP following him skipping the exit interview, would you trade him for the Boston pick? (I think Boston would rather have KP that another PG or JJ). Basically what player or players in the draft would you trade KP for, if any? Fultz, Ball, Josh Jackson? And if you did what player would you then draft with our pick?

I think the only way I'd consider it is if KP is on route to diva-ego status, and we also landed a top 3 pick- then I'd draft Fultz/ Ball and Josh Jackson.

Yes without a doubt

If Boston gets the first overall pick, it would cost more than Zinger to acquire.

There are still some issues in play here

1) Zinger will be entering Year 3 of his cost control cycle, meaning Boston has a year to evaluate before being in a situation to pretty much be forced to offer him his next extension. The flip side is having IT2 and Horford are RIGHT NOW type acquisitions, so if the Celtics are going to push, they want to push right now.

2) If Boston picks up the 2nd or 3rd pick, that's a little fuzzier. There isn't a whole ton of precedent here in the current marketplace and era to gauge how that would shake out. The three pick they might move straight up, but it's unlikely the Knicks would do that deal.

3) Would the deal be the best overall option out of all teams in the league vying for either set of assets in place?

If it's the 1st or 2nd overall pick, essentially Tier 1 of the lottery, then it would cost more than Zinger alone, which makes the deal non viable for the Knicks, who need quantity, not just quality.

Baseline question is if Zinger entered this draft, where would he fall in it. If you believe he's in a separate tier ABOVE the current set of Ball and Fultz, you'd consider it as Boston.

I would not make the deal on either side. It just doesn't seem like a fit. Boston could likely get more viable assets for what they are trying to do from another team. The Knicks simply cannot give up quantity at this point.

I've lived in Boston for over 30 years

Contrary to the above, I have no doubt (as in not one iota) that we could get the number 1 pick and then some from Boston. He is exactly the kind of player they covet. Smart. Competitive. Skills. And he would provide the length and rim protection they want

It would be historically the stupidest thing Knicks ever did. Even if zinger flipped Phil the bird the wise move is to be patient and get to the bottom of things. KP has good reason to be frustrated. Yes he shouldn't skip an exit interview. But no don't overreact. We now have actual NBA game evidence not college highlights etc and can say KP could go #1 in a lot of drafts. There have been a lot of Bennett thabets darkos beasleys who have sucked or mediocre at best on a good day. And a lot of oladipos russels etc who are good but for one reason or another well short of their lofty expectations. Boston is smart enough to know this.

A maturing big who has not even touched his potential...you just can't make the trade if you are the Knicks.

Celtics would do it, though.

Knicks would regret it.

No way. KP has more upside than anyone in this draft by far.

No because I am sure that pick will turn into a bad apple. This team needs more udfas. They play the right way.

We traded the best big man the Knicks have had in more than a decade in Rolo after one season. Now we're going to trade the most promising big man we've had since Ewing after 2 seasons? For what, the Triangle?

This is insane.

No I would not trade KP for Boston pick. KP needs to be better associated with what NBA is it's a business and his approach needs to be about basketball. Let Phil do his job and KP needs to do his stop regurgitating Melo's words.

KP should not be traded unless he continues to fight the program. He cannot be allowed to skip mandatory exit interviews that are important for his progression.

You can't, but PG seems a more important position these days, and you could land a potentially elite PG like Fultz or Ball. If you want a big who can shoot, you could then also draft Markkanen or Isaac.

Not saying I'd do it, but that would be the logic. Need to seriously look at if KP is on board (starting to wonder if it was his people who leaked the story a few months ago that he could leave the Knicks in a few years), not getting too big for his boots, etc and make sure he isn't going to physically breakdown.

Calm down. Amare, David Lee... nuff said. I don't need "but he's a two way player" argument. It's not real.

And yes I would trade KP for Boston's pick... but I would need a sweetener... like maybe a future pick or their top second round pick this year #36...

Knicks have Willy... they could add Fultz and Issacs... Nigel williams-goss 🔥🔥🔥... **** it.

But that's only if there really was a riff...

You calm down. Amare for half a season, and David Lee was a stat padding beyotch in NY. Your approach to team building is unreal. Lets trade everyone who doesnt want to play the Triangle. Whoever is left, the team president will be more than happy to call out in public if they dont play it well enough. There's a plan.

Anybody mention the triangle?

Team players... not selfish players. Team players play for the team... selfish players play for themselves. We lost because all of our best players were selfish...

If you have professional hardworking players buying into a team concept.... You have wining basketball. We didn't have that... That's losing basketball. So we're rebuilding... KP is very much a part of that, but if the dude is a developing diva or allowing Melo to influence his g'night process then yes he should go. None of that is confirmed. Just school girl whispers.

Team basketball... that's all I want. The word triangle is the ribbed dildo of every Knicks haters wet dream. When is it going to be about the Knicks? The team? Why did people want to put players above that?

So do we fire everyone in management again just to jerk Melo off for his last 2-3 years playing at a high level? Who are we going to get here between now and next off season? Will Mark Jackson be enough to lure players in like a catch a predator episode? Will a "young spurs executive" in tight wet sweatpants be enough to lead the Knicks?

Simply.... the Knicks need hard working professionals... leaders. Winners... no matter who is in Charge we need that. No matter who is coaching, there needs to be a team driven sysyem in place... 😘

He has turned into a malcontent chucker just like his idol Melo. Porzngis defense slipped big time this year. Not to mention the biggest reason of all you dont need bigs at all to win anymore in the NBA. I would trade him in a second for a chance to add more guards and wings.
