Agree. But the top of the draft I really want a point guard. Hardest position to get a difference maker and this lottery is loaded with PGs.

You're spot on about the SF and PG.

We need a SF that can defend the ball, and shoot from outside on offense. A more athletic smaller, quicker Lance Thomas.
At PG we need a PG that can switch from PG to SG effortlessly, someone who takes pride in setting the table up, as well as shooting from outside. I liked Rubio but his lack of shot from outside longterm would have been a problem.

I do like KP, Thomas and Lee as starters next year. I think all 3 should for now be penned in as starters for next year. Hopefully we can draft a player who can start with KP/Thomas/Lee. And then we find someone with the free agency money. After that, I also look to get starter level player with a Melo trade. If Melo wants to stay, I make it clear to him. His role next year is to be the best 6th man in the league, which he would be easily. If Melo stays despite knowing he's going to come off the bench. more power to him. He'll be lethal in that role and we'd win more games that way.

From a marketing standpoint, it's hard to bench Melo. I'm not saying it's the wrong decision from a purely basketball standpoint, but lots of things happen in the NBA don't factor in the basketball standpoint first.

I agree! Gotta keep upgrading the talent PERIOD. Can't get satisfied with a player unless we finally have a legit star talent at the position. GS didn't stop upgrading just cuz they had a lot of frontline talent.

We need at least 1 more star player to go with KP. Maybe 2.

We do need a new owner. We probably need a new president/GM, because by the time we're even close to being a competitive team, this one will be 80 years old, and I'm not convinced Mills is anything more than a Dolan Yes Man Hack!

You can't develop in a losing atmosphere, because losing brings drastic changes. The knicks said there taking the last 22 games to evaluate who fits and wh doesn't. There are 2 things I know for sure, KP needs to play the 5, and should never be on the floor together with willy, because they are atrocious defensively. Yeah, we lack so much that we should basically take the 1, 2, 3 that best fits what we do. If Melo is here, it allows us to go small if we get another solid 2 or 3.

It's really too early to tell what the lottery order will be. I bet someone we don't expect locks up a top 5 pick during March Madness and some other dark horses jump in the top ten. There's three and a half months to go and tons will change.

Best thing Knicks can do now is keep losing and have the best pick possible. I think there's a chance we "catch" Sacramento and Orlando in the sad sack standings and lock up a top five pick. We shall see, of course.

But, yeah, I'm interested to take a closer look at Tatum. Josh Jackson is very intriguing, though he seems to be a top three lock. I do think slots 4 thru 10 in the lotto will change a ton in the coming weeks and months. I'm seeing Fox slated anywhere from 7 to 13 right now. It's fluctuating.
