Whether Melo waives his no-trade clause or not, those are the 2 guys we should target. Since they're already teammates & from the same hometown we could get a package deal.

Starting 5 would fit perfectly in the triangle.

Hayward is a smart dude who doesn't seem so enamored in enhancing his own brand. But he & Hill could really do something special in NYC.

That starting 5 would be great, with a young point guard we draft learning from Hill.

It's just not going to happen. The Knicks don't have enough money or assets to trade for hill and hayward. That hard on is pulsating though

Hill seems to be having some issues with money with Utah and may leave.
I would sign Hill over Rose, because I think both will be priced quite high. Hill is looking for the max from what I've read. He's going to likely get a 4 year deal in the $100 million range.

Boston has a max slot, a top three pick, jaylen brown, smart, crowder, Thomas, Horford, Bradley to go along with a top 4 coach, a gm that's delivered a championship and rebuilt a team after winning a chip.

We have a the worst owner in the sport, a smug gm that insists on running an offense no one can understand and an unproven coach, Lee, Willy and KP.

Why take a meeting?

Hill is getting 70+MM. He was a spur a pacer and jazz guy. NYC not for him.

The Knicks aren't getting any meetings unless we land a top 3 pick.

George Hill will turn 31 in a couple of months here. He's likely to get a 4 year deal simply because of the big cap infusion the past few years, and that's a function of the NBA current marketplace and not his actual value.

You'd be paying big dollars/max money for a players decline phase, and Hill has been in a steady decline except for this year with the Jazz, which is a circumstance issue more than anything.

If anything, the LESSON from George Hill is that he was a late first round draft pick by the Spurs. The Knicks can find PG help, without having to unload max dollars to do it. The Knicks need to stop looking at the "name brand" guys like Rubio, Jrue Holiday, Chri Paul, Hill, etc, and look the Aaron Brooks type ( from the past) , or the Ish Smith type. There are useful PGs out there who can help and don't require a massive overpay to do it.

Failure to find an effective PG, without breaking the bank, is a sign of front office ineptitude.

The Knicks just need to trade everyone not named Hernangomez and then tank hard.

We can't stress ourselves over free agents. It's not our time yet. We have to be patient

That would be rare. Amare Stoudamire was the last one to do that that i can remember. Amare was on a mission to build his brand and become great. As noted plenty of times by just about all of us... nobody cares about ny. Winning one in ny holds no extra weight to players anymore.

Amare also left because Suns weren't offering a full max contract and no one else was either just the Knicks because they struck out with all their plans. Amare was like plan D.

Dude Stoudamire changed religions when he got to ny lol... He was more about branding than anything. All hinders aside he was a legit star regardless of injury concerns.

Noah and Lee were old and overpaid. G.Hayward and Hill are on good teams in their prime. i doubt theyd leave to a lottery team.
