Knicks should make this trade:

Knicks get: Dennis Schoeder, Tiago Spliter, Kent Bazemore, and Atlante's 1st Round Pick
Atlanta gets: Carmelo Anthony, Holiday, and Brandon Jennings

Why we do it: We need to get the team younger. This deal gives us a potential starting PG for the next 5-6 years, we get another 1st round pick in a deep draft, and Splitter's salary will expire. Thus, we have the flexibility to NOT have to draft a PG with our pick. Instead, we can go with one of the SF's that are highly rated. And, if we do decide to draft a PG, we can always trade Schoeder. So we add a second pick and we have more flexibility.

Why does Atlanta do it: In signing Howard and deciding not to trade Milisap, the Hawks are going all in. This trade gives them a top scorer, which they need. Both Jennings and Holiday are young, so the Hawks can resign them. A team of Jennings, Hardaway, Melo, Milisap, and Howard, will be pretty solid and would have a 2-3 year window to try to get a championship. Phil would have to sell Melo on the hope that with him added to Atlanta, they would be a real contender, but I think that is possible.

Trust the Process

From Atlanta's perspective, you are weakening the back court and wing players to improve your front court in a league where the rules have changed to favor the back court players..This is a move Phil Jackson would do...Think where Atlanta was just just two seasons ago when they won 60 games..This is running in the opposite direction..

Why does Melo agree to this?

Does Coach Bud want Melo. Also, who plays the 3/4 with Melo and Milsap?

Why does Melo agree to this?

Because the thread creator requires him to

This. Melo and Millsap are very similar. Melo is an upgrade as a scorer, but not as a defender or passer.

I think a trade the knicks should do is Lee/O'Quinn for Utah's two 1st rd picks, Jeff Whitey and Raul Neto. What makes Utah so perfect is that it fits into their open cap space. I think that would give them the second best team in the Western Conference.

It may help them in the interim but they then face the issue of trying to re-sign both Hayward to supermax and George Hill, without venturing too deep into the luxury tax. Acquiring long-term money in addition to those extensions compound the issue.

That aside, are you not a believer in Rodney Hood and Alec Burkes.

I'd hold out to see if we can get better 1st rounders but if nothing shakes loose then this would be good.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

Bruks is having a bad year plus he is an injury concern and this could possibly make the Utah team a legit contender because they are missing some offensive pieces to go along with their great defense. What really is great is that Lee/O'quinn would fit well defensively their too plus O'Quinn shot blocking and rebounding is something they need from their back up center. He gives them another body if they face the spurs in the playoffs. Lee gives them shooting and a reliable wing if they face GSW in the playoffs to combat their small ball line ups.

You bring up a good point about their future cap space but in the Off season Utah can create space by selling off Burks and/or Favors then recoup some more picks probably better than the ones they gave up.

Phil: Hey i have a trade set up to send you to Atlanta.

Melo: NO

That's it

The only other teams that may do a Lee trade are Washington and Indy but Indy would have to sweeten the pot because they would probably add Monta Ellis to make the salary work.

Millsap is definitely the more willing passer of the two.

Agreed, but that has to do with role within an offense as well..But as a skilled passer, Melo is underrated..

Hawks offense is much better. It would be interesting to see Melo in that offense.

Eh, I would much rather see Melo in an offense like Toronto, he would never go, or the Clippers...Just to see the impact he can have in the playoffs...ATL is always an overachiever in the regular season...
